John Kerry's commanding officer was just interviewed on Fox News. According to Lt. Commander Grant Hibbard when Kerry showed up in front of him requesting a Purple Heart, Hibbard saw that he had a "scratch"(Hibbard's word) on his forearm. And because, according to Hibbard, there was no report of enemy action on Kerry's patrol that day and the "scratch" did not receive medical attention from a medical officer, Hibbard declined Kerry's request for a Purple Heart.

Didn't Frank Burns also try to get a Purple Heart for a "back injury in a combat zone" after he strained something while shtupping Hotlips Houlihan?

We received my brothers PH in a nice little cardboard box. With it came a form letter from the government, saying how sad someone was about his death etc etc. It was stamp signed by some general in Washington.
I realize that was WWII, but to me it has always made a lot of awarded medals "suspect".
Not all medals are equal. The price paid is what counts.

Drip, drip, drip...Politically this is very series. This is like 50x Dukakis In A Tank. Persistent, itchy little Dukakis cooties rolling in on jFk! :)

Does this mean he has to go back and complete his tour of duty?

Boy, I hope this Hibbard really takes to the airways. This info needs to come from someone who has first hand info on what a phoney Kerry is. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. There 's lots of "stuff" lurking in Lurch's past. I think he never expected ANYONE to question his heroism. He skated here in MA and figured it would be smooth sailing....Surprise, Horse Face!

My dad was shot in WW II. He was in hospital several weeks.
When an officer tried to present him a purple heart he declined it.
He claimed to have been biten by a bear, not wounded.
He'll be 80 this July, I still wouldn't want to mess with him.

Anybody know how he earned a Bronz Star and a Silver Star?

Kerry should follow Adm Boorda's example.

Purple Heart? Was Kerry in Vietnam? I did not know that.
I'm pretty sure Kerry in Vietnam is just an inside joke around here like hugh, series, moose, cheese, stuff like that. If he was really in Vietnam he'd have mentioned it by now.

So he went "commander shooping". Better not tell the Palm Beach DA. He'll demand all of Kerry's records from birth.

For the conspiratorial, this steady drip drip of info on Kerry is intriguing. The info has always been there - why now the play?

I believe one was for killing an injured VC and the other was for saving a drowning soldier.

Maybe the government will take away one of his Purple Hearts. But, that means that if he has only two Purple Hearts, then he got out of Viet Nam under false pretenses.
Wait a moment! I have an idea! Since he got out of Viet Nam under false pretenses, they should re-induct him and send him to Fallujah, to serve out the rest of the time that he should have served in Viet Nam.
