My fearless prediction:

Specter will win by a narrow margin.

The Dems will now have ammunition by the bucketfull to beat him in November, not to mention a discontent GOP base in PA.

+1 seat Dems.

Bad move, Toomey.

Weather is good today in Penn with really low turnout.

I still think Tooney is a favorite with the way he was trending the past few days +2/+3 ahead.

+1 seat Dems.

Only if the Toomey supporters (which I consider myself, even if I'm Texan) don't rally behind their SOB (Specter) after the primary.

I'll take that if that's what it comes to.

Look at it this way. The GOP is expeced already to pick up at least a seat or two (or more) due to Democratic retirements in Red Zone states.

I'd rather have a 52-48 Senate without Spectre than a 53-47 one with him. With him gone that's one less RINO to give Ted Kennedy "Bipartisan" cover for the latest DNC legislation or initiatives. It would also mean someone nearly as obstructionist as Leahy would not be in charge of Judicary for the next two years.

The Specter seat already belongs to the dems anyway, so it would not be a great loss.

Your fearless prediction is quite fearFUL.

I can't believe FReepers are still so stupid as to post this tired crap. I mean, no offense, but this theory is reminds me of the "Gray Davis is going to step down and Bustamante take his place before the recall" that FR had so many posts of. If Toomey wins, with an energized base that I keep reading about, explain to me why those folks won't vote in the fall, or better yet, explain to me after all the Union filth that has been dug up on Snarlin on here, why would anyone vote FOR Snarlin in the fall? The GOP only has to hold serve in about 7 other races, which they of course will, so the chance of them picking up seats is quite good.

Your Spect(R) is expendable, not to mention a liability as Chairman on Judicial Committee. Good Ridance, and thanks Pat for not listening to the yammering of nattering nabobs of negativity and sticking your neck out for PA and for your country.
