Get out and vote Toomey.

I am kind of surprised about the reports that US Rep. Toomey seems to be carrying Lancaster County by a slim margin, 52-48

Toomey needs to rack up a good margin in Lancaster County, so that he can afford to bleed a little on Specter turf in Philly.

So if youre a Penn. Republican, quit reading the Corner and go vote Toomey.

Toomey also needs huge margins in York and Harrisburg to offset anticipated Specter wins in the Philly surburbs.

so whats your beef here ? Toomeys a BETTER choice than Specter and Houffel(SP) is not a threat. With 9 Senate seats in play, the dems must win 8 to take back the senate. its a political lose/lose situation to vote for specter. cuz with his record he is a dem for all intents and purposes.

There’s probably more to this statement than I’m aware, but can I ask you for clarification on what I think I see you saying? Are you saying that democracy and freedom are simply cultural values, not necessarily less dangerous to peace than the values common in Arab or Islamic cultures?

Because I think that it’s the preverbal “root cause” to terrorism. That leaders propped up by fundamental Islamic dogma can’t manage a society that competes with the West, and they have to insight hate of us among the population to keep their fristration and anger from turning inward and removing them from power.

So we’re finally attacking the root cause of terrorism, despite the difficulty of “changing their culture from the outside”. But in the end, we’re only neutering the reach of the culture of one or two nations, by dropping their governments. Actual culture change will have to come on its own, influenced by our presence and the parameters of the governments that we promote.

I dont see another way to attack the root cause of terrorism. Do you?

I said before that Bush must support Specter. If Specter wins and becomes Judiciary Committee chairman, he will be insufferable -- Toomey challenge or not.

I mean, no offense, but this theory is reminds me of the "Gray Davis is going to step down and Bustamante take his place before the recall" that FR had so many posts of. If Toomey wins, with an energized base that I keep reading about, explain to me why those folks won't vote in the fall, or better yet, explain to me after all the Union filth that has been dug up on Snarlin on here, why would anyone vote FOR Snarlin in the fall? The GOP only has to hold serve in about 7 other races, which they of course will, so the chance of them picking up seats is quite good.

FYI, my calander says santorum was running his own election in 2000. maybe A little too preoccupied to worry about Bush. sphencter, however, couldn't have stumped for Bush any less without showing up at a Gore rally.

I think that it is going to be interesting to see what Specter does in the general election if he does lose the Primary to Toomey.

Will Arlen endorse and support Toomey and campaign for the President (who after all did support him strongly)?

I think that Toomey will circle the wagons, hold his nose, and support Specter if he loses today.

My bad, I got a bit confused by all the silliness. After reading the thread and the nasty comments by ClintonBe its become painfully obvious that my time is better spent reading the rantings of a 14 year old in a chat room than this antagonistic Rockafeller Republican. Oh well, we should be more understanding, after all-they are a dying breed!
