My apologies if a thread already exists. I did a search on "Toomey" and found nothing.
I arrived at my polling area (suburban Philadelphia) at 6:45 am to hand out palm cards. The weather is terrific this morning, but turnout (I thought) was light (I had to leave at 9:15, but will be back).
Actually, I have a good feeling about Pat.

Westmoreland is 99.7 done and Toomey won by about 9,000 votes.
Washington County is 84% done and Toomey leads by about .
1,400 votes (6140-4700)
I don't know if either of these is in the 11% not yet counted.

Our poll watchers explained that if voters did not have ID and they did not recognize them that they would have to use a separate ballot that would take days to certify. This is part of the new law to weed out vote fraud. I don't think it is going to be over tonight. That law needs to be national. We have it on the books here, but it is not enforced unless a poll watcher challenges it, then the poll watcher gets arrested and sued.
Arkancide:-) Damn Rats!

Looks like Specter for another 6. Hopefully he's grateful to President Bush.

Thanks for nothing Bush, Santorum!
I'm staying home in November and I predict Bush will lose Tennessee to Kerry.

I'm confused. What good does this do us if it's the Dems who are pulling this out? We'll lose the seat, even this liberal seat, to a Dem in November. Is that what you want or am I getting something wrong here? I'm asking myself, if we have a "seat to give" in the Senate, is it worth it to give up Specter's seat in order to keep him from being the chair of the Judiciary Committee?

If Specter wins this, expect him to get all Scottish on our asses. If he does, and the GOP has more than a 1-vote majority, he'll get yanked as Judiciary chair.
To: Fledermaus
Yeah but if you stay home, you increase the chances that more American get killed by terrorists.
So think about it.
