"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

36 Palestinians caught off Crete
Coast guards detained yet another large group of illegal immigrants off southern Crete yesterday, and arrested seven men suspected of having smuggled them into Greek waters.
It was the sixth bunch of illegal immigrants to be caught in the area since April 27, bringing up the total of detainees to about 500 people.
Yesterdays arrests followed a tip-off from the captain of a fishing boat that a suspicious-looking vessel had been sighted near the islet of Koufonissi, just off the southeastern tip of Crete. By the time a coast guard vessel got there, 36 illegal immigrants, all young men, had been put ashore on the islet.
The patrol boat gave chase to a 17-meter wooden fishing boat seen in the vicinity, and eventually arrested its seven crewmen on suspicion of migrant smuggling.
All the migrants claimed to be Palestinians, apparently in the hope of securing more favorable treatment, although coast guards suspect that they are Egyptians as proved to be the case with the 463 migrants caught in the area over the past fortnight. All had claimed to be Palestinians, but failed a written test prepared by Palestinian diplomats in Athens.

Royal wedding coming up in Denmark
Don't Throw Flowers at Danish Wedding
Tuesday May 11, 2004 1:16 PM
By JAN M. OLSEN
Associated Press Writer
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) - Throw your wishes and cheers at the royal couple as they ride through Copenhagen after Friday's wedding but don't hurl any flowers, police said Tuesday.
``A flower could be mistaken for a bomb and we don't want to cause any unnecessary scares,'' police spokesman Flemming Steen Munch told The Associated Press. (snip)

Haven't had time to catch up lately - will try today since there seems to be a lot going on.
FRUIT VENDOR PING: After 7 months the fruit vendor is back at his post at Penn Station. The older cleric looking guy wasn't there but the younger one who used to help him was. Same spot at the rear entrance on 33rd between 7th and 8th Avenues.
