I have been Conservative Democrat all my life -(50 years old)- last week that ended when I went to the Court House and changed my voter registration to the Republican Party.

The bad news is Durt's from WY, not PA, IA, FL or one of the other swing states. :-)

Glad to have you aboard! I just changed my registration from Independent to Republican this year. I figured I always voted Republican and I always will so I might as well make my registration Republican and it felt good!

Welcome!
Did Zell Miller have anything to do with your transition?
The War on Terror?
In any case, Glad to have you in the party.

Thanks for removing the duplicates. I just got hired onto the Department of Redundancy Department...

Congrats! I was apolitical prior to Clinton's scandals. Went to vote in a NJ Republican gubernatorial primary a few years ago & was told I couldn't vote because I was a registered Democrat. Have been a registered Republican for about 3 years now.

The last straw??
The politicizing of our National Security!
I voted for President Bush as a Democrat, and have fully support our actions under his leadership. The direction the Democratic Party is headed is in my opinion anti-American and I can no longer support them.
Thanks for the warm welcome

Welcome. Another thinking American has seen the light.

May I be among the first to welcome you.
You are one of thousands, perhaps millions, who live by conservative values, yet have registered and voted democrat because their families had always done so; or because their first exposure to politics had been an honorable or even conservative democrat; or because the last vestige of the folly of youth had been manifested in the voting booth.
Ronald Reagan was once a democrat.
Zell Miller, against all reason, still is.
If a democrat today set out the policies of John F. Kennedy, his bona fides might be questioned, and he might well be labelled a "DINO" or even a neocon PNACer.
But enough of my ranting; and again, welcome.
