I do not know where this mpeg originated, but it shows a scary level of competence in equipment & personnel.

Here's the email note on the forwarded mail I received.

This is awesome.
This is unbelievable.
Turn on your speakers and watch this Apache stop
Iraqis from placing a bomb along the roadside to kill American
troops.....the Iraqis can not hear nor see the apache because it is dark
and they are 2 miles away...they are using infrared.

My guess is that they are a lot closer than 2 miles, counting time from noise to hit, but then I'm not an expert.

Probably no explosives, those rounds just turn a human size target into vapor.

Excellent!
Of course, as Rush always says:
"The primary purpose of the Military is to kill people and break things."

Job well done!

This is video that was circulated a while back. The originating story with it was from ABC news and they took the slant that the Apache was engaging civilians.

Obviously the one who bought the farm by the tractor was unsheathing some type of launcher to defend himself with.

There was another mpeg circulating that had more video to it that showed for sure they were militants before the apache targeted them. I haven't seen it for sometime, but someone at FR knows where it is.

Have a nice day, and thanks for the morning boost.

>> placing a bomb along the roadside?

It looks like they are planting potatoes instead of mines.

Do they use tractors to plant mines?

Whoa!  You aren't kidding...

The above picture shows a spent round from the Apache's 30 mm cannon. (A 9mm shell in front for size comparison.)

If that is what they were using...YIKES!!!

I remember it on TV a couple of weeks ago with the storyline about "fairness" as we (the United States) hold the technological advantage. It being as "the other side doesn't have a chance".

Which reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live skit with Rummy.
