ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has opened a center for the maintenance of its F-15 fighter-jet fleet.
The Royal Saudi Air Force has opened the center at the Prince Khaled Air Base in the Asir region in the southern portion of the kingdom. The center will focus on the maintenance and overhaul of the F-15 fighter-jet fleet procured by the United States over the last 25 years.
In February, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz inaugurated what was termed the F-15 Engine Industrial and Development Center. The center was meant to overhaul, repair and install the twin engines of the F-15 aircraft.
Saudi military sources said the center will train Saudi nationals in servicing the F-15 engine as well as its components. The center will be overseen by U.S. defense contractors that provide the engine for the F-15.

The Saudis aren't about to attack Israel and risk what Israel or the US would do in retaliation.

True, however one cannot rule out a "rouge" member of the Saudi Air Force doing the bidding in a terror attack.

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has approved a program to help improve Saudi Arabia's fleet of F-15 fighter-jets.
The Defense Department has awarded a $5 million contract to Abacus Technology Corp.to provide communications support for Saudi Arabia's fleet of F-15s. The support is meant for the 91 F-15 C/D aircraft purchased by Riyad in 1982 and the 72 advanced F-15S jets purchased in 1995.
Abacus Technology, based in Chevy Chase, Md., provides information technology and management consulting services. Since 1993, the company has provided engineering expertise to help improve the Saudi air defense system.
Officials said the project would support the F-15 Peace Sun Program as well as the Saudi Peace Shield Program. They said the contract is also meant to provide communications support for a range of U.S. and Saudi installations.

Yup, and the Saudis by basing some of their F-15s in that city Tabuk have a better chance in making it happen.

By 1992 the SAF had seventy-eight F-15s, including fighter conversion trainers.

Iranian Air Force ordered 7-8 Awacs in 1977 and 140 F-15s but Jimmy the Dumb didn't back the Shah and both fell. Later, Saudis got those AWACS and F-15s. We can see how DemocRATs ruined the region and future of our allies in the Middle East!
Here is a Saudi AWACS

"Can't fly an F-15", yeah that is probably true, during Gulf War I, Iraq scored not a single hit.
And flew them all to Iran, to be buried in the desert sand,,, man, that was the dumbest thing I ever heard of, after THAT, all they were was scrap!
Hardly worth even excavating later.
