John O'Neill, the Vietnam veteran who took on John Kerry in the 1971 debate on American "war crimes" that was recently rebroadcast on C-SPAN, will be interviewed by Wolf Blitzer on CNN this evening. O'Neill, who commanded a Swift boat in the same division as Kerry -- though for considerably longer -- more than held his own against Kerry during a 90-minute special broadcast of the Dick Cavett Show. Now he is challenging Senator Kerry to continue the debate they began 33 years ago, in an effort to clear the names of the Vietnam veterans Kerry once accused of war crimes "committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

I use the walking away from a battlefield figuratively here; I'm not insinuating that Kerry did such a thing in anything but an abstract sense. However, his support for ending the war was in effect a demand that all American soliders fighting in Vietnam do that.

I just saw his interview on C-span about 20 minutes ago with sme caller interaction. Mr. O'Neill said he is not political, hasn't been for years. He was very clear and direct, very clearly stated the name of Kerry's 1971 book and to find excerpts to go to wintersoldier.com. It got my attention and so I think the word is definitely getting out there.

I watched John O'Neill on Cspan this morning.He is simply devastating in his assertions that Kerry isn't fit to be CIC.Not campaigning for Bush,just spreading this absolute knowledge and conviction that Kerry isn't qualified to be CIC.
He is going to make Kerry's change from "war criminal" to "war hero" a nightmare.He's going to get help from other vets. I cannot imagine anyone being as credible,forceful,articulate and assured as O'Neill.He is passionate.

There's really too much information about Kerry and the "war crimes" disinformation campaign to cover in a TV interview, so hopefully that will help a few more people connect the dots.

I think we have a volunteer to transcribe the Kerry / O'Neill debate, but I haven't heard back...

She is SO manipulative, devious and power hungry! So's our boy Kerry, but that isn't as widely understood. Yet.
We do in fact have a solid volunteer with transcription experience who is working on the O'Neill / Kerry debate, and we'll make that transcript available both here and at WinterSoldier.com in a week or so when it's ready.
