[history]
John O'Neill, the Vietnam veteran who took on John Kerry in the 1971 debate on American "war crimes" that was recently rebroadcast on C-SPAN, will be interviewed by Wolf Blitzer on CNN this evening. O'Neill, who commanded a Swift boat in the same division as Kerry -- though for considerably longer -- more than held his own against Kerry during a 90-minute special broadcast of the Dick Cavett Show. Now he is challenging Senator Kerry to continue the debate they began 33 years ago, in an effort to clear the names of the Vietnam veterans Kerry once accused of war crimes "committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

Fox news tonight did a segment on the recent polls, and how Bush has gone up in spite of everything over the last few weeks. Brit asked his panel why this was happening. Kruauthammer, as usual, got it right. He said that it is all about the war right now, and Kerry has not proposed anything of substance on what to do! He said all Kerry wanted to do was get the UN involved and goto France! He said the American people understand he has not proposed anything of value. LOL. Cici Connolly about hit the roof.

John Kerry with his mentor in 1971. Advice from Ted: "So, John O'Neill is speaking up. We can BRIDGE over this crisis -- just keep LYING -- say you're a war hero, just like me."

Hey, that stuff stings!!! I sure am glad that I was never hurt that bad!!!! You suffer worse wounds around FRiends than Kerry suffered in Vietnam.
I'd vote for you as president if I didn't think the planet
would be a glowing cinder a week after your election.
To: Carolinamom
Right. I love how Kerry first ran for Congress on his war record as a Patriot, then lost and went over to the Commie side where he lost again, but gained much recognition and a taste for power as a result of his VVAW activities.

ATTN FOX NEWS : Why did CNN scoop you on this story! It's better for our side that it's on CNN. You know how the liberals despise FOX.

"You know how the liberals despise FOX."
FOX is part of the liberal agenda.
They STILL won't reveal this latest data on Hanoi Kerry.
Instead they continue to act like Hanoi Kerry is a legitimate candidate, instead of the traitor he is.

I knew Kerry would rue the day he decided to make his Vietnam service and Bush's guard service an issue. I have followed his career for many years.
In Boston, during the Clinton freep back in '98, I even tried to engage him in a conversation. He was a condescending shmuck. So I said forget the conversation, lets step out behind the building. :-}

Bacitracin is a simple step above first aid creme. Not something injected at all. Just an ointment with a bacteria fighter in it.

Having watched the Kerry testimony performance before the stacked senate panel after he got back from Nam, his reckless attack on American troops as in general hideous war criminals, and his refusal to dissacicate himself from all of that, and apologize, leaves me amazed that the Dems would nominate such a man. Of course, to be fair to the Dems, most did not watch the performance. Hopefully, most will in due time.
The man is a pathological liar, consumed by ambition. Other than ambition, his life has so far demonstrated no inner meaning, at least to me. Indeed his comments and policy positions have been so reckless and ill considered, and his lies so continual, the latest being when he told Russert that he had released his military service files, when he had not, and keeps them under tight wraps, that I am amazed his collapse has not been more marked than it has been to date. But there has been erosion. Without Kerry being Kerry, Bush after some very rough times, would be about 10 points behind in my opinion.
That's how I see it.

Kerry
can't apologize for his antiwar efforts; not really. What he and his cohorts did then lies at the heart of leftist mythology, and they won't give it up without a fight. PBS lists Kerry's atrocities rap before Fulbright and company as one of their "Greatest American Speeches" -- one of only four chosen from the 1970's.
If they're forced to admit now that their "war crimes" chorus was just propaganda -- propaganda done in tandem with America's enemies during wartime -- it will destroy what shreds of credibility the Left still retains. Certainly it will destroy their ability to replay their greatest triumph using Iraq as the stage...
I think the Democrats are stuck with Kerry. I think Kerry is stuck with his 1971 role as a taller Jane Fonda. And I think this issue is the hammer that may finally shatter the Big Lie about Vietnam; that our efforts to save South Vietnam were wrong, immoral, doomed to failure, and characterized by random acts of savagery. If so, Kerry's candidacy will be swept down the drain along with it.

NEVER FORGET
...JOHN O'NEILL just blistered JOHN KERRY on Vietnam War Issues in detail on the 1971 CAVETT TV Show.
...At the end of CAVETT's TV Show KERRY lyingly said he would love to come back for a rematch so that he could really discuss THE Issues of the Vietnam War, as if he had not just been thoroughly beaten on them on National TV. Another LIAR.

Thanks for the ping Ronnie. We are paying attention, and so is America. We want our troops to win the war on terror battle in Iraq, not lose. The doublespeaking Kerry can neither lead us to victory in this just war, nor protect our troops -- much less the homeland -- with his lies. Wasn't it the same back in 1971?

Yes, it was precisely the same way back during the Vietnam War, as RUSH LIMBAUGH stated so elequently today on the air, and the same folks who wanted US to LOSE then ...as now.

Ronnie, I think I've expressed this before in other ways, but wouldn't you say that for a soldier to lay down his arms and walk away from a raging battlefield would take great professionalism and careful attention to propriety and honor before it could ever be considered "loyal?" And wouldn't you say that while any American is free to express his wishes to disengage his country from a war that to do so should put him under very close scruitiny? And wouldn't you say that given the fact that Kerry worked tirelessly to end the war after being injured that he should have welcomed very close examination of character and principle?
Given all of those questions, which I think I have fairly presented here, I believe we can say with 100% certainty that Kerry fails each of those standards. We do not denounce him for wanting to end the war. We denounce him for the unscrupulous way he appeared to support the enemy under conditions where his own lack of courage could appear to have been at stake.
Being afraid to fight, or afraid to lose one's comrades is not a crime. But letting that fear -- or even perhaps the profit one could make from exhibiting it so prominently -- dictate one's political actions is unforgivable under the circumstances. The left brought the deaths of almost 60,000 American soldiers to the brink of uselessness by stopping the war when they did. And we can blame that disengagement for the deaths of 2,000 Cambodians and countless others in the region from Laos to Burma.
Kerry, as a figure central to that dishonor, a courageous man of peace we say YOU ARE NOT.
