Prophet muhammed risked his life in spreading the knowledge of islam, people who joined him were brutally beaten, they were forced to lie on burning sand, had huge boulders on their chests, red hot iron poured on them, and they still followed through because islam is a pure and incredible religion. Prophet muhammed was bribed to stop teaching people about islam, he was beaten himself, his uncle life was taken, his first wife's life was taken, he didnt promise safety he promised a religion. People who were against him were out to get him, one in particular Abu Safyan would not back down. He would take an army of men and attack muslims as they were praying, but before he did this Prophet muhammed and an army were at war with Abu safyan and they(prophet muhammed and the muslims) won this war, and they kept getting attacked so they would go on to win against a jewish clan and non believers because they were sick of the repeated beatings they were taking and not doing anything about it at first, so cronos this is where all the killing came that you speak of, that aparently makes us "bad" people, but the people who would attack the muslims first were "angels", in your words.
