France condemns Israel's killing of Rantisi
Jerusalem Post ^ | Apr. 18, 2004 | ASSOCIATED PRESS

France condemned Israel's killing of Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi, with the French foreign ministry saying such "extrajudicial executions" are violations of international law.

"Every state in the region has the right to protect its citizens, but not with no regard for international law," the ministry said in a statement Sunday, referring to the Middle East.

Rantisi, the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and two bodyguards were killed as they rode in his car on Saturday in Gaza City near his home, hospital officials said. Rantisi was one of Israel's top targets after it assassinated Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin last month.

France "declares yet again that extrajudicial executions are contrary to international law, and are unacceptable," the ministry statement said.

France's belief is that "only through dialogue - and not through violence - will peace be achieved" in the region, it said.

Well Said Yonif!!!

BTW can anyone point me to the "repository" of International Law?? I'd love to know what the laws of the world are, who made them, how the legislators where chosen, when the laws were enacted, etc....
I've been looking but can't seem to find a source . . .

Tell that to the Germans! And next time, they get to KEEP France!

Well, we all thought that popping Rantisi was a good idea, and now we've confirmed it.

"France "declares yet again that extrajudicial executions are contrary to international law, and are unacceptable," the ministry statement said. "

Contrary to international law?

Either the "occupied territories" are really "occupied" and there was nothing "international" about this. Just an internal police action.

Or the Palistinian terrorist act was an "act of War" like the Palistinians themselves claim. And Israel has the right of self-defense.

Of course I don't expect the French to understand much about the right of self-defense. They think international law requires them to surrender.

Dear Israel: Pay no attention to France. They are insignificant, irrelevant and useless. You did well in killing Rantisi and, as an American, I applaud you!

P.S. What about Arafat? He should be next.

Now what did P.J. O'Rourke say about the French?: (politically-incorrect warning)

Sawed-off sissies who eat snails and slugs and cheese that smells like people's feet. They take filthy pictures of each other with cheap cameras, wash nothing but...(censored), fight with their feet, and perform sex acts with their faces. Utter cowards who force their own children to drink wine, they gibber like baboons even when you try to speak to them in their own wimpy language.

Pure hypocrisy, just as you would expect from the French.

Remember Rainbow Warrior? (Chirac was PM at the time.)

Remember the early 60s? The streets in Paris were covered with blood from Algerian demsntrators shot and killed by the French police. Of course all that was hushed up.

I keep hearing about this strange beast called "international law." Where is this "law" codified? And who elected the legislators who drafted these "laws?

"France condemns Israel's killing of Rantisi"

In other news, the French government condemns it's own military's defense of Verdun in 1916, stating that in order to save lives, the French army should have surrendered.

That malformed, ill-spawned offspring of an act of buggery should have been broken on the wheel a long time ago.

Only the French can be arrogant enough to show their cowardice with pride. They openly hate the jews. There is no such thing as a brave Frenchman.

Is Michel Barnier the new French Foreign Minister? If so he is doing a fine job of displaying his patriotism to his white flag waving country.
