Okay I think it is now time for the Syrians to close up their side of the boarder. How? Send in teams to start sabataging water, power, etc. Make it happen all over the country on the same day. THey need to focus inward instead of outward.

I just heard FOX finally just mention this story.

I don't like knee-jerk reactions.
But this sounds good to me.

LOL! Knee jerk would have been sending a relief/search & destroy column in during the actual desecration celebration by those animals (I'll be they were laying for it). I personally would have preferred a MOAB on that bridge while they were clebrating.

I think it's time to go back to shock and awe - and lots of enemy deaths.I think it's time to put Milosevic in charge of the whole occupation mission, but only if we can somehow draft Wesley Clark and force him to take orders from Slobo.
To: Squantos; Jeff Head
I think we could save ammo and time by just leaving large holes in the ground where each and every radical mosque now stands. Of course all bombings should be done when the mosques are at full capacity.

The next step for the "insurgants" (are they disenfranchised yet ?:o) is to blow up the mosques themselves and blame Uncle Sugars best !

"an estimated 300 Iraqis from Fallujah and Ramadi launched an assault against the Americans in Husaybah around 8 a.m"
I thought Fallujah was surrounded? How did fighters get out of Fallujah and go to Husaybah? Doesn't sound like we have control of a Goddamn thing in that country.
We aren't fighting this war like a war. Why haven't we captured or killed Sadr in Najaf??? Why haven't we taken control of Fallujah??? We haven't accomplished either mission that we sat out too do. The way some of these leaders are talking it doesn't sound like we are going to either. We could have easily done both within a few days if we had wanted, but instead we started negotiating with terrorist scum, and now we look weak. The reality is that we are weak if don't allow our men to fight. We are capable of winning easily, but if aren't allowed then out power is irrelevant. If we don't at the very least kill or capture Sadr and take complete control of Fallujah then they have won and we have lost.

We lose six Marines--- men of character, skill and courage, the pride of our Nation. America mourns.
The insurgents lose "scores". Islam, due in large part to their polygamous marital arrangements, is burdened with a surfeit of angry young males with neither productive nor reproductive potential. Their society needs to dispose of these men, to redress the destabilizing imbalance between eligible males and females.
Killing scores, hundreds, thousands even, will neither dampen the fervor, nor sober the outlook, of the surviving Islamofascists.
Killing them by the bushel in their Iraqi hellholes is still ultimately "swatting flies". The actions of the remaining flies are not affected by our swatting a portion of them, and no matter how many you swat, you haven't made a dent in the total population.
The U.S. cannot win any contest of attrition with Iraqi insurgents. Its not a game we should be playing.
If the Sunni's would rather wage war than to participate politically in a Government dominated by Shiites, then we should let the Sunni's and Shiites have it out, or proceed directly to partition. U.S. soldiers and Marines are too valuable to be expended keeping Iraqi's from fighting their own civil war.

Prayers for all the fallen and injured men and their families. May God watch over all our soldiers.

Some folks say they think there is nothing the Islamics would like more than to see the fighting spread through the entire region, and then the rest of the world. I think that is their intention.
That is because the Islamist see the US handcuffed with the same lame military mentality that lost us a past war in which we won all the battles. The Islamist would not be happy to see the fighting spread if it involved B52s, B1s and ICBMs, but as long as we fight their fight, using conventional limited strategy and tactics, the Islamist know they have a chance. Marines going door to door, house to house, street to street are never going to be able to cover and control all Iraq and Syria and Iran.
The Islamist are buying time, time until they are able to get their hands on more dangerous weaponry and possibly WMDs, then our kinder gentler compassionate combat strategy will produce staggering loses on our side.
Why? We learned the lesson before - we lost that war, lets not fight this one the same way.
One thing you can be certain about, when the Islamist get deadlier weapons and WMDs, they will not be hindered by ANY rules of engagement.
Time is not on our side.
To: Shermy
This is not the way you win a war. This is the way, the exact way we lost a war. We are fighting according to the way the enemy wants us to fight. Are men are sitting ducks. There is no fire and movement, there is no use of our superior air power.
That desert city should be told to evacuate in 24 hours, because it will be leveled the next day by bombers. Set the example. These scumbags are getting supplies and troops from Syria. We should take out Syria's dams and bridges. Make Syria boil. Overthrow that terrorist supporting government - give the Israelis a free hand.
This war on terror is not a war on just Iraq. We need to kill all the governments that sponsor terror = Syria and Iran. Now. Time is on the Islamist side. Once the start employing WMDs they will by killing 60 then 200 Marines at a time.
We can't fall into another quagmire. We need to learn from history.
You can bet the enemy will have no pity on US if we allow them the time to acquire hi tech threats against our troops.
To: Jeff Head
I like what you said here:
"Inform them that the death or injury of any who are held against their will or who elect to remain will be on the heads of the militants and tell them this up front...no bones about it, no further negotiations."
I think that would be nice to hear from the White House. It is the mentality that we need to have to win this war and what we lacked back when we lost many years ago. A statement like that would more to win the war on terror than 400,000 more troops handcuffed by PC kinder gentler compassionate rules of engagement.
To: oceanview
We already have 100's of millions opposing US.
Truman didn't use the A bomb on Tokyo because it was already burn't to a crisp.
Now I'll tell you what will happen if we keep up with this kinder gentler compassionate strategy.
-This war will go on and on and then..... the Islamist will finally get a WMD, and I gaaarrrrunnnnteeee you, they will not give one hoot about our civilian casualties. As evidenced by WTC1 and WTC2.
To: Jeff Head
We need to stop rebuilding Iraq and start tearing down Islam.
Because the nuclear clock is ticking and when the Iranians get Nukes, we will be in for a world of hurt.
