"My memory has failed me but back in the old days, the 80's, who was the cleric who went to Lebanon to negotiate release of hostages and himself was taken. Terry somebody?
Any chance this could happen to Jackson?"
We can always hope. Maybe if gets stuck over there and goes without his usual soul food for a while he could lose weight and then sell his own diet plan. He could upstage the Al Sharpton Hunger Strike/Weight Loss program. How long did that protest last? Al dropped some pounds, I think. That could get Jesse a contract with Jenny Craig, too. He could take over from Monica, the possibilities are endless.

Why aren't we taking this more seriously?
We are sending a clown in to negotiate for hostages?
This is disgraceful!

You go, Jesse!
Offer to hold that heavy belt while you're at it.
Show me how deep yer convictions run.

Maybe Bill Richardson should take a crack at it. He always jumps at the chance to get in the national spotlight, and didn't he have a meeting with Sadaam about hostages sometime in the past? Someone help me here.

If they do take Jesse Jackson hostage, it would be a brilliant move by both Dems and the terrorists.
The Black Caucus and John Kerry would be all over George Bush calling for Jesse's immediate release and saying Bush is powerless and ineffective. They would call him racist for not doing "whatever it takes" to get Jesse released. Then they would call Bush a murderer if the Jesse was killed.
Here's hoping they aren't that smart.

Now Fox News is saying Jackson wants to go to Iraq and "reach out" to religious leaders there. Jesse must think they will grease his palm with some greenbacks.

Attention All Jihadists:
This is an Emergency Action Message from Holy Warrior Blue 43.
Jessie Jackson is an evil American CIA spy. He has both pork rind and US Army soldiers hidden in his Afro.
Deliver him unto Alllah!
God is Great.... and a good medium rare ribeye with A-1 on the side ain't bad either.

Jackson called Trent Lott and Lott gave him the Hamil family's phone number. He's NOT going to Iraq. (wait for it, wait for it.....) he's writing a letter to al Jazeera.

He's
claiming that Thomas Hammill's wife contacted him...he's also saying that he won't go to Iraq.
Since we can't believe a word he says, who knows what's true?

Well, in my opinion, this is just another lame attempt to inject himself into the news, similar to his "I will negotiate with the Taliban." The Taliban didn't even know who he was, and I will bet neither do those who are holding hostages.
He said on Fox(RITA had the exclusive, don't you know) that he would go IF he knew where they were holding Mr. Hammill.
Well, IF we knew that, we would probably send Special Forces in to get him!!

Damn, that's one ugly human....
To: Catspaw
What a clymer that guy is. You know he bullied someone in Lott's office for that phone number, and then called the Hammill family offering false hope.
If he goes over there, I hope he is successful, but I doubt he even intends to go.

This HAS to be a joke!

he's also saying that he won't go to Iraq. Actually, he just told Rita Cosby that he would go to Iraq if he knew where to go. As of now, all he can do is contact Religious leaders, and the Iraqi t.v. for information on who he can contact. He said he knows "they" watch CNN. (! ! )
One more thing, and I know this sounds awful...but..is Rita Cosby really a woman? I swear that voice is out of a man...sorry

Never negotiate with terrorists. It only increases the effectiveness of terror, which passes on the problem to future generations.
It also gives them a chance to influence US voters by granting a victory to a left-wing Bush-bashing big mouth.
