I heard that it wasn't Jesse Jackson who successfully negotiated for the release of American POWs in Yugoslavia, but actually a group of Congressmen who went over (from both sides of the aisle). Can anyone help me back this up?

What if they kidnap Jesse? On man, this could really turn into a mess.

Does Anyone know where I can find that classic audio file of Jesse Jackson on Saturday Night Live reading "Green Eggs and Ham"?
I can only find a small portion and am looking for the full version.
Any help would be...helpful!
Thx

No, he should go. He came to my daughter's High School assembly to get students registar to vote this election. He also had the student's praying at the end of the session.

He talked to the North Koreans, I think.

I thought I heard Jackson say that he called Trent Lott for the phone number of Mrs. Hamel (sp). He called her.

I agree. If he can get the hostage released and the terrorists only release him for "political reasons", that's okay as long as the guy is safely returned to his family. And I would be the WH has approved Jackson's involvement. With all that said, I still can't stand the phony creep.

Is he going to take his bastard with him? How about his wife and girlfriend?

I don't want to argue his motive later, I want to argue it now.
This effort (as were his efforts in Bosnia, regardless of their "success") is an attempt to intervene in US foreign policy, is uncalled for, and is probably illegal.
The Clintonistas bit their tongue when Jesse did his thing in Bosnia, but the Bushies may not have that luxury. Anything that goes wrong will redound negatively to them in an environment where the press is praying for something negative to happen. Even if it goes right, the press will hail Jackson for doing something "the ineffective Bush Administration" couldn't do.

OK - I can see it all now. JJ will have a hostage office next to Bremer. Coalition leaders will refer all families of hostages to his 1-800-IDAMAN!
And what the 'ell is Lott doing mixed up in all of this - he knows the law. "Sen. Trent Lott said he talked with Jackson and helped the longtime civil rights advocate contact the Hamill family. Lott said one step Jackson wants to take is to write a letter to Al-Jazeera, the Arabic language television network, and encourage Hamill's release."
Does everyone think this man is going to be the ONLY hostage taken?????? EVER?????

Jessie "I'm sorry Mrs." Jackson needs to keep his butt right here and be quiet.
