I knew that would get under your lily-white skin, Joe.

Now racist comments?

Stinky, if you ever got under my skin, I'd just relieve myself.

At the rate you are going you are going to be banned. You can't "speak" to fellow Freepers the way you do, and long survive, nor should you. Flame warriors are a endangered species on this site. JimRob is culling the herd.

Listen, I understand how you feel. My husband works for GM-engineer. We hate globalization, but voting for Kerry wouldn't help-Heinz catsup is made overseas (73%). I was ranting and raving about job losses to free trade several months ago. A friend said ok -"whats the solution"? Should we nationalize businesses, should we subsidize businesses that are losing money because they can't hire cheap workers? What is the answer? I finally decided that there is no answer. I don't know what the future will bring, but I don't want the government telling companies how to run their business and whom to hire. The Democrats are not going to save jobs- believe me. However, they may lose the war in Iraq and terrorists may attack us again if Kerry wins. By the way, the new parts are pure cr#p. After a few recalls, GM may reconsider.

Now racist comments?

Did you, Joe Hadenuf, of all people, post that with a straight face?

What are you looking for here? You have a very sad story but I still don't see the point you are trying to make. You lost A job. You can find ANOTHER job.... millions of people do it every day. Did your emplyer give you a glowing recomendation letter given their obvious respect in the form of 3 unsolicited raises?

Like I said, it was in reply to 1) in the first post I replied to where the original poster declared that everyone who had a problem with delivery didn't care about content (BS) and 2) the second post that was directed to me that said the same thing. It IS ridiculous.

Why is it that if there is a difference of opinion here that the dissenters get climbed all over, especially when a lot of it is voiced out of concern that the issue being discussed could help us to lose the election this fall? I'm scared stiff we'll end up with Kerry in November, and any time Bush looks defensive or halting I'm scared to death it's going to hurt him at the polls.

Good night, I've had enough. And like I said, I didn't take notes. But if I see it again I will, and will PM you.

Free trade. And pre-existing him doesn't give him an out.

Riddle me this Batman: If we do away with free trade, and other countries do the same, do you think "Americans" will have more, or less, jobs? Would we have a better standard of living, or worse?

Just because we don't make buggy whips anymore, and the earth shoe factory closed down, doesn't mean the government should close the trade borders. Instead of wallowing in self pity, make yourself marketable to a company or start your own business. But your selfishness is very ugly. What's best for the country may not be what's best for some small percentage of US citizens. That small percentage needs to adapt. If not, you'll find yourself very unhappy and wanting to blame someone else for your stubborness and unwillingness to change.

Interesting point!
But who would believe these Dems would have agreed to such measures pre 9-11 when they STILL fight Bush on them post 9-11?

But I also think the hemming and hawing didn't come across well, before that. Say it at the outset, say it strong, say that "I was in office only 8 months before Sept 11 and did the best I could with the information available so I have nothing to apologize for!"

He could have said that and likely wanted to, but that would be participating in the blame game.

I do not know how he honestly could have answered the questions better. His answers were thoughtful. He is not on a campaign stump, nor did he want to do one liners ans appear insincere or pompous.

He was also speaking to Iraq and the Middle East.

A very difficult thing to do in a presser where no reporter is helping, but trying to dismember him in public.

His tone was informative. Kind of like how you would be responding to a question while sitting on your living room couch.

He was trying to honestly and truthfully answer these complicated questions in a way that everyone might understand, knowing that the mothers and fathers of sons and daughters that are in harms way were watching.

I think he got it across to them, and that is what is important to him.

The usual suspect Dems would have trashed him of course, even more fervently than now. The NY Times would have gone nuts. Isn't THAT the point?

Free trade. And pre-existing him doesn't give him an out. His support of it is directly responsible for this. Supporting it makes it his policy whether he put it in place or not. And he is planning on signing more legislation that extends far beyond Nafta. An opportunity to damage us further with even more of it.

That's RIGHT! Let's not forget he tried to poison us all but putting more arsenic in the water!

Just WHERE in the Constitution of the USA, does it guarantee you that you will get and keep byour " dream job " for life?

What is "immoral", is that you keep trying to high jacvk this thread. What is "immoral", is that you seem to think that the President Bush is somehow "guilty" of your job loss and your illness. What is "immoral", is your continued grasping for attention.

Terminal patients usually get some kind of mental health help. If you have yet to avail yourself of this, do so immediately !

Is teeth knashing a British Torie thing?

He handled the question about his biggest mistake since 911 well. Let history record it, in essence, is what he said. That leaves no room for the media to immediately pounce on any other answer and leaves open the possibility that nothing of historical significance will ever be widely pursued or accepted with any lasting quality.

Your idea of mocking those who've heaped criticism upon him in that manner has some humorous quality, but doesn't answer the question about post-911.

This is what I don't understand about the Democrats. They've never been on the right side of the Iraq issue, no matter what. Partisan bickering was unheard of when Democrats launched into their recent conflagrations and unfinished quagmires that still exist today. The Democrats are mad Bush is actually doing something about the "unfinished business" from which they're 50% responsible for.
