But DELIVERY COUNTS, particularly with the Great Unwashed who are likely to decide this election

The "Great Unwashed", which would include me, speak like Dubya and understand him, they understand that Kerry speaks and acts like an asshole.

Dubya wins that battle but if you don't believe me ask Al Gore and Ma Richards.

Can you tell me what specific legislation or policy that Bush created, that didn't exist before he took office, that allows you to blame Bush?

I didn't think you'd answer. Go re-train yourself in a useful field and stop whining like a baby....

I think you need to watch the rerun, Jorge.

You must have been expecting something extraordinary to be so severely disappointed in the way he handled himself.

He was himself. Not silver tongued, but resolute, passionate and honest. Himself.

Cheney can verbally filet an interviewer like no one I've ever seen.

Cheney is undoubtedly a verbal surgeon but he is not a man I would follow in Indian country. Dubya is. Why that is I don't know but it is.

Best of evening to you! Right on! Your words are beautiful
and true. President Bush, man are we ever so grateful his hands are holding the reins of our future and destiny. We could not have asked for more. He may not speak fancy. He may not sound so elitishly soft palmed and delicately effeminate enamoured with Euro wimpiness. He was all man. Nothing more. Nothing less. A man who will fight for what is right.

I would have like to see that tonight from Bush - the press corp deserved it.

No they didn't.

There was one substantial question tonight.

The rest were requests for apologies, for grovelling, for critiques of his style, for admission of mistakes....

What the hell kind of questions are these? Not one question on the economy, or on jobs, or on consumer spending, which are all looking up.

This was the most ridiculous press conference I've ever seen. It was filled with "gotcha" from the press, and Bush handled their vacuous bullshit with grace.

I'd spit on Terry Moran and David Gregory, and will, if I ever get the chance.

I went to work at a catalogue company taking orders.

I remember that...it was during the 2000 campaign and if you had a customer from Texas you'd comment on their governor who struck you as a good man. Good work!

No one's perfect.

Neither was Moses...

"...O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." - Exodus 4:10

...but he did OK.

Now, can someone please teach him to speak extemporaneously without sounding like a half his brain has been switched off?

Sounds to me like a bad case of penis envy. Try one of those internet extension things.

Post #2,338 was meant generically, not specifically singling you out when I meant "you". :)

Thanks for the clarification. I was beginning to feel "uneased"......;)

My criticism would be this: He may have drifted here and there, but that doesn't mean that's how he is in the White House as far as I am concerned. He drifted at probably the moment people were deciding to go channel surf toward their usual Tuesday non-news shows, and missed the dynamite finish at the end. The voters I speak about are still sitting on the fence right at this very moment. But, alas, it's still April, and alot can happen between now and November. Most voters wouldn't give a damn what he did or didn't say.

Yep. A good job - great even. First time in my life I worked under bosses who expected tall and recognized to go with it. They respect our position and treat us like human beings. The whole place kids around about the client now and then like anywhere else; but, everyone of them cares about the client and seeing that the client can function. I love serving Delphi because I have family there and most of the people I deal with are decent.

You occasionally get one of those "do you know who *I* am" types who you couldn't please if you bronzed their sphyncter at death for their enemies to kiss; but you'll have that. They've been good to serve and it's challenging if maddening at times. It lets me solve problems for people and feel useful while putting a great deal of practical experience and selve learned knowledge to work.

My local bosses and my team and the whole facility are heros. That's my heartfelt view. The corporate office and Delphi at this point have lost my respect. EDS was my dream job. From the first time I picked up a keyboard I wanted to find a way to get credentials to work for them.. even scrubbing toilets just to get near to an opportunity with them. They used to have integrity of a type that other people would tell me about and locally still go on about - people who have been served by them in the past in the line of their duties. So, losing the dream job is a real loser of a situation. It's nice to know it isn't my fault on the one hand - on the other it is my fault that I'm not a mexican in mexico cause that's the standard they applied when they decided to get rid of me. To be a competition and a fair one, I had to come to the table with those credentials and I couldn't. I could as easily say it's the 50s and I couldn't get the job because I wasn't white and I needed to have those credentials to get in the door. I'm an American being disowned in America for not being Mexican. There's some irony in there somewhere

Man, you are so right about that. I'm thinking that all this complaining is easy, but to muster up manly courage and resolve takes on an entirely different hard edged dimension. And I'm glad to have seen your enthusiastic post that proves that Americans are not wussies and defeatist at all. My heritage does not identify with that and I'm guessing neither does yours or President Bush's.

Do we live free or die in the chains? Not according to President Bush and people like us who love our freedom more than just about anything else on earth!

Please cite specifically where in the speech or the Q&A he was 'drifting'.......other than in response to the 'biggest mistake' question, which he didn't, nor should have answered.

He was speaking for over an hour, and I was paying quite close attention and only saw him 'drift' once..........and that was in response to a really stupid question which had no answer.

That "really stupid question which had no answer" was repeated in one form or another more than once during the Q&A session.

And he did a good job of responding WITHOUT falling into the trap they set for him (they ONLY wanted to hear "I was wrong! I'm Sorry!)MOST of the time.

And the example you cite above was the most obvious problem he had. But there were other less obvious instances of him stuttering and saying "uh...uh...uh" while struggling for an answer.

I agree with you that the questions were idiotic. But he should have known they were coming and could have been better prepared.

Condi got hit even harder but clearly knew what was coming and was ready.
