The President and his family spent Easter Sunday at the Chapel at Fort Hood and then visited soldiers at the Darnell Community Hospital.

President Bush held a joint press conference with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, at his ranch Monday, April 12, 2004 in Crawford, Texas, discussing Sharon's plans for the Gaza Strip, among other subjects.

The President left for the Waco airport shortly after the completion of the press conference, and flew home to the White House.

The President announced that he will hold a press conference in the White House, Tuesday night, at 8:20 PM EDT.

Elder kids just left today, and we took them to the airport (more than an hour away). Then tonight, a grassroots organizational meeting for the Ohio BUSH CHENEY VICTORY in our county.

I'll have time to work on them tomorrow, and post tomorrow night.

I don't think until any of us have hit a day like today - where there were pictures from over the weekend, and then so many from today as well to choose from, that we have any idea how long it takes to put together a cogent post.

I'd like to thank mtngrl@vrwc for starting the idea of posting the comments and the names of all of the people in the photos when there are shots at a bill signing for example, or the President is meeting with his Cabinet, or is addressing a group somewhere and has Congress Critters and other dignitaries with them.

I always used to wonder, "Who are all those people?" and when she started doing the subbing on Mondays and Tuesdays, she started doing that. Thanks to her wanting to give up doing it on Mondays and asking rintense if it would be okay if I became the permanent sub for Mondays, I'm here, enjoying doing this and still having fun.

So, thanks mtnchickee for the idea - but it adds a LOT of time to doing the posting because then, due to the addition of the titles, if you are a perfectionist (my hand is raised; I know I am one!), you have to put them in the correct sequence. I sorta gave up today - just too many photos and Yahoo, Reuters and AP put them up, all jumbled in just any old order. It would be nice if they followed some kind of date/time sequence, but then, I'm wishing for the impossible, so I'll just stop now.

It was so much fun to hold onto the last 3 photos of the President with ol' Barn, and post them as the "finale" to today's epic. I don't think I've ever posted quite so many pics but it sure was fun.

RE: Misery index

In one of the short blurbs I heard today, they said the misery index would be very low today--the lowest since (I think but I'm not sure) 1981.

And did you all hear this abou "Tax Freedom Day"? That's the day in the year when they figure if all of your salary would have gone to taxes, it would be paid off. Anyway, last year Tax Freedome Day was May 2nd; this year it is April 11th! That's the first time since 1991 it's gone "backwards"!

(I'm trying to be like Dr.Deb with her poll results, with my encouraging statistics!)
