Parents Who Choose Not to Vaccinate Children Upset with Some in the Medical Community

By KCRG-TV9 News Anchor/Reporter Renee Chou TV9 Cedar Rapids Newsroom
Some eastern Iowa parents feel they're treated with hostility because they refuse to immunize their children. They've discovered that saying no to vaccines means that pediatric offices can say no to providing care to their children.
At 19 months old, Ambryia Mulnix has never felt a needle poke into her skin. Her mother, Arielle, says she's done her own research and comes to this conclusion on vaccines. Arielle told TV9, I don't feel there's a need for them. And Ive seen it can cause deaths too, so more safety, and my belief." But she soon discovered her belief shuts out pediatric care for Ambryia. Arielle says, "Ive been turned down at pediatricians, I can only go to the emergency room, or family doctor."
Iowa Health Physicians Clinic has had a policy for three years now, it does not provide routine, pediatric care to non-immunized children. Ken Anderson told TV9, It comes from the feeling that the immunizations are so important to children that it's such a strong feeling of ours, that if we can't come to an agreement of that fact, we feel it's unlikely we'll be a match on many other things."
Arielle says, "It's hurtful because Id rather not be judged on my belief and what I believe is best for my child." As a result, Arielle uses her health insurance to cover emergency room and urgent care center visits when Ambryia's sick.
Arielle feels fighting off infections will only make her baby stronger. But pediatricians see it differently. One doctor says, The germs are out there, and your body has to be able to fight it, if the body comes into contact. The immunizations are a way for your body to recognize that in a very safe way."
But this mom feels her beliefs, even if it means no pediatric care, are the safest for her child. It's better than getting pressured into getting her shots, and not being judged going in there."
Mercy Care Community Physicians do not have pediatricians, but say their family doctors provide routine care to non-immunized children.

It comes from the feeling that the immunizations are so important to children that it's such a strong feeling of ours, that if we can't come to an agreement of that fact, we feel it's unlikely we'll be a match on many other things." This attitude of pediatricians bothers me. They are admitting that they, who know all, should never be questioned about the health care of a child, or they will reject them as patients.
I been there and done that, already, although not of immunizations. But, the trendy notions of pediatricians over the years is laughable.
How many of you mothers remember the demands from them that the baby have nothing pass their lips other than milk until he/she is a full one year old? I started my baby on cereal and fruit at three months old because he was hungry. My pediatrician actually threatened me that since I was going against his advice, I should find a new doctor. I did.
The arrogance of physicians is amazing.

Stupid to put blind trust in doctors. My sister and cousin were both DES daughters, Hysterectomies in their early 20's
Friend of mine stepped out of a window after after taking antidepressant drugs for mild depression.(halycon..SP?)
My 5 year old daughter was exhibiting extreme compulsive behavior from her asthma med (steroids) Her doctor denied any side effects. he suggested we get counseling. We took her off the steroids and she returned to normal after a couple of months. Come to find out the steroids were so powerful they actually have a detox ward in the local children's hospital in new haven.
I had two pure bred puppies die on separate occasions after being inoculated. I think their immune sys. were too immature to handle the stress I always wait a few extra months now.
Did you know that mercury is the most toxic metal next to plutonium? Mercury is one of the few metals that crosses the blood brain barrier..and stays there until you die.
My mother in law died from mercury poisoning. Not pretty
Blind faith in doctors and drug companies? Not for me, my daughter was 4 before she got her first shot

It won't be long before a resurgence in these diseases comes about. The number of immigrants, both legal and ILLEGAL will help to hurry the process along.

The arrogance of physicians is amazing. Physicians are no longer employees of their patients, they are first and foremost Agents of the State. Half of all medical spending and all of their special privileges come from the Feds. Interacting with MDs is much like interacting with IRS agents or the BATF. The Attitude is roughly the same. There are some good ones out there, but generally, I have to be bleeding from the eyes before I'll go see one.

I have one daughter (21) who had all of her vaccines and one son(19) who had only a few. My daughter catches EVERYTHING and takes a lot longer to recover. Her immune system is not nearly as effective as my son's.
They have both been involved with large groups of children their entire lifes. They have been exposed to most illnesses.

Well it won't come from Mexicans. They have one of the most aggressive immunization system in this hemisphere. Probably...because we are paying for it.

I am not arguing that the innoculations are safe or unsafe, but are they really working at all?
We had an outbreak of mumps of high school age children in our town a couple of years ago. All the ones who contacted the mumps had documented evidence that they had had timely and appropriate immunizations.
Our public health nurse was mystified.

There is no harm in raising a fuss or even a brouhaha about the relatively slow pace of improvement in vaccines, especially as it concerns the willful introduction of mercury into vaccines. Yep. Some vaccines were and are preserved in a solution that is nearly 50% methylmercury or ethylmercury. I guess for some it depends on what is an acceptable(as far as number of children) amount of debilatating neurological disorders.

There is no conclusive proof that vaccinations do not cause such deseases as Autism. My nephew has Autism and it was discovered right aroung the same time that he received the MMR. Is there anyone here that can prove that if I give my soon to be born child this vaccine he/she will not develope autism. Are there any cases on record of a child getting autism that did not get the MMR vaccine.
Would love to hear inteligent feedback on this.

Nurses are mystified because they are being force fed nonsense.
I am a scientist and I could never get away with the type of studies that these bozos put out. It is unethical to experiment on children. Interesting about the mumps thing. What town do you live in?

"Treating people like vectors"???? A vector is a point of transmission. An infected person BECOMES a vector, its not a matter of "treating" him as such.
The anti-vaccine people should be forced to view films of third world children dying of childhood diseases.

I would like to add that as a child in the early fifties, I was given the first salk polio vaccine in my parrish in Louisiana. My mother was the parrish Public Health nurse and I was chosen to be at the press conference as she gave me the shot.
I think we have come too far in giving babies at no risk of hepatitis immunizations that are high risk.

Spent much time with autistics?

There is no proof there is not a teapot orbiting Jupiter.
Autism existed long before vaccines.
Listen to Dr. Dean Edell (sp.?) for a few weeks and at least once you will hear him deal (with much exasperation and indignation) with all of this.

More than likely your nephew did not get exposed to mercury poisoning from the MMR unless he received it before 1999. I believe this vaccine is now mercury free. BUT...autism increased 400% when this shot was introduced in the UK...I'll find the study.
I believe that this particular vaccine could rupture the lining of the intestinal wall and could release some pretty bad things into your blood. This would eventually get to your brain and cause all types of problems.

Some vaccines were and are preserved in a solution that is nearly 50% methylmercury or ethylmercury. Uh, that sounds pretty high.
Karen E. Wetterhahn a chemist at Dartmouth died after only being exposed to only a couple drops of dimethylmercury on her gloved hand.
To: Mixer
I do have the sense that there may be a very small percentage of the population who is sensitive to the mercury in some vaccines and believe there are studies that may show a link. That being said, I can tell you that my uncle was crippled by polio as a child, I watched the little kid next door to us die in agony from tetanus, and a schoolmate was crippled from meningitis. I was part of the polio vaccine trials(my mother, even then knew that the disease could be worse than the vaccine.) So, I have had personal experiences with people who had not been vaccinated.

Have you been to a third world country and seen how they vaccinate people? Do you think that they use a clean sterile needle everytime you get a new patient like we do here. HA!
I have seen "Aid workers" with my own eyes inject dozens of people before they even changed needles. I truly believe that this is why Africa is in such a mess with AIDS.

will the child also thank her mother when she can be enrolled in school??
