[history]
Rice appeared rattled when Watergate prosecutor Richard Ben-Veniste confronted her with the title of the presidential daily briefing (PDB) forwarded to Bush at his Crawford ranch on Aug. 6, 2001: Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States. Rice called it historical information based on old reporting that did not warn of new attacks. Ben-Veniste countered that it established a pattern of suspicious activities and challenged the administration to declassify the memo so the American people could decided its relevance for themselves.

Ms Clift,
I see you graduated from the same School of Reading People's Faces as Dick Clarke.
If we pretend to agree with you for an hour, would you agree to have your voicebox surgically removed so it doesn't pierce our eardrums any more? Thank you.

No doubt about it, when Bush read that memo that morning he should have ordered all Muslims rounded up and held in Manzanar. He should have shut down all freeways, airlines, taxicabs, ferries (the kind that float), and interstate highways. He should have evacuated all schools, day care centers, congress (not the same as day care centers), libraries, factories, shopping malls (naw... that's too far), and public swimming pools. He should have told all citizens to move indoors and stay there without breathing or drinking water for the next 90 days. Yup that's what he should have done.
He would have to present himself as a humbled man from a humbled country. And how exactly is our country humbled?
We've been the leader of a charge to remove a disgusting criminal from power in Iraq, ten years after we saved Kuwait from annexation by his sadistic regime. We've liberated hundreds of thousands from the cruel reign of the Taliban. We sent our soldiers to die in Eastern Europe to protect the liberties and lives of people most of us don't share a religion with. We helped restore peace to Haiti, likely saving hundreds if not thousands of lives. Time and time again this nation sticks its neck out for the world, with our own tax dollars, to help out people most of us will never meet.
#$%& you, Eleanor Clift. Our country should be prouder than ever of its tough stands against evil and its commitment to a better world.

Actually i heard a comment that she was very surprised that Ben Veniste was quoting from a confidential, CLASSIFIED, document that was "eyes only" and not for public consumption. this is of course why the White House never wants to let Congress see anything because they don't understand the difference between CLASSIFIED and unclassified, and leak everything.

Even though this was a Clift article you should have included a Hurl Alert as this one was particularly malignant.

Rice appeared rattled ... She subscribes to the Dick Clarke school of I-Know-What-That Look-On-Your-Face-Means school of thought. Both are clueless.

Since when did the Democrats ever apologize for any of their idiotic schemes or programs? Make genuine apologies, manipulative apologies like Richard Clarke's or Bill Clinton's about slavery don't count.
