Translation from Hebrew to English by me
A group of Al Queda terrorists and other Islamic activists that are jailed in Britain have been on hunger strike for a week. The reason: the meat given to them is "not kosher." The Arabic newspaper "Al-Srak Al-Oste" that comes out today in London reports that at the head of the group stands a main member of the Al Queda organization by the name Abu-Katada, that is considered the spiritual leader of the organization in Europe.
Abu-Katada and his friends, that are jailed in a secretive jail in London, revealed that for a period the meat that is being served to them is not up to the strict Islamic kosher standards.
Yasser Al-Shari, an activist in the Islamic charity for Human Rights told the paper: "The hunger strike of the Islamic activists is because of the wrongdoing operations being directed on the prisoners." He added, "This wrongdoing caused the prisoners to do something that is against their religion, when they found out that the meat given to them is not kosher from an Islamic perspective."

Would the pig fat idea have any influence on them, Well, I am not one of the "Firehose them with pig blood" crowd. Many Muslims believe that an improper burial or a ritually unclean contact with swine at the time of death will bar them from heaven--but that is not universal. All it would do, really, is infuriate them and cause the liberal press to whip up propaganda about how insensitive and barbaric the US is.
The whole Muslim affinity to pigs was borrowed directly from Judiasm. In fact, Islam borrowed much from the Jews! Jews pray towards Jerusalem, Muslims pray facing Mecca. The dietary laws of Islam were lifted from the Jews. And on and on.
If you go to a hotel breakfast buffet in Fujari or Taif, they have pork sausage and bacon. It is just behind a brass screen that says in Arabic and English: Swine Pork. Some Muslims eat it anyway. They might give alms to a poor begger or something (another pillar of Islam), and that will negate the fact that they ate bacon.

There are a few differences in Halal and Kosher food, but pious Muslims often shop in the kosher section of the grocery when there is no Halal store nearby. Most of the major dietary laws are the same.

I think the world would be a much better place if Muslims were actually permitted to drink.W.C Fields would agree (as do I). He "didn't trust a man that doesn't drink". As for me, I tend to keep an eye on a tea total.
As for their "Kosher diet", feed them Kosher Spam.

''Kosher'', of course, means food prepared according to the formal code of
Kushreth.
Were I a rabbi, as regards these subhumans, I do believe I'd give a pass to hog intestines (one form of chitterlings, aka chitlins), and pickled pigs' feet, and (what the heck) snouts, too.
Let these filth work it out for themselves...and I'd lay heavy odds that they cannot. Cartridges soaked in pigs' blood are also suitable (cf. General of the Army Pershing, as a brigadier, in the Philippines, in 1905-06).

Agreed, but would it possibly provide protection for contractors in Iraq, et al? I mean, say we equipped the SUVs they travel in with devices that would spew pig fat (possibly hot, even burning) all over whoever was dancing around an SUV that was on fire. Would their irrational fear of this provide some safety for our people? Or are we all oinking up the wrong sty?

Maybe they will set one another on fire and eat themselves - that seems to be permitted by their code.

Time to play the "baby back ribs" jingle from Chili's 7X24 on the P.A. system. Cook up the ribs and make sure they are downwind.

An odd thing. Because the Jewish dietary laws are similar to, but stricter than, the Islamic ones, anything that is Kosher is automatically Halal, but Halal food is most often not kosher.
If they don't like meat which hasn't been bled out, no problem, we can treat them like the Beltway snipers -- feed them Nutriloaf. I'm pretty sure it's halal.

"...didn't trust a man that doesn't drink" President Bush doesn't drink. I don't think that Ashcroft does either. Hmmmm....
Just kidding. In general I agree with you though.
To: yonif
If baloney sandwiches and hotdogs are good enough for ordinary decent prisoners, it should be enough for the likes of them. They don't like it, let them go hungry.
To: conserv13
President Bush doesn't drink.True, but he used to. Admittedly he over did it, but he (or Laura) got a handle on it. It's the ones who "never have" that give me pause. They've usually done something else that they don't want to 'fess up to.
