We didn't respond to the USS Cole because we thought it would embolden the terrorist? Huh? Did I hear that right?

An inadequate response. This is her argument. You can agree or not. They bomb a ship of ours or bomb two ships of ours-- whatever. Our response would be to either hit with some airstrikes on bases or we go to war with the Taliban in a half-assed way because it takes time to plan a war (you have to get co-operation with Pakistand and such). Bush thought neither made sense. So, he had them work early on on getting co-operation with Pakistan and such. As she said, people think all of those positive things after 9/11 happened instantly. They had been preppring for months and months beforehand. It's a time of our choosing issue. The timeframe is based on how best to beat the enemy.

I didn't hear it at all. I'm a cube-dweller. Deaf and blind, as it were. Why are you asking me?
