Actually, it was Levin doing the dirty work for Daschle. Have not been able to connect Daschle directly to the obstruction of these particular folks appointments...but I know he had to be lurking in the background with a silly smirk on his face.

Yes. In relation to pre 9-11, Levin stalled important Bush nominees.

It was Daschle's wife smack dab in the middle of the failure to implement the Gore Commission's airline security recommendations. As was a bunch of campaign cash… an addiction Al Gore could not resist. His love of tea is well documented.

We're already in a "cold" civil war. The war is on; the shooting hasn't yet started. It's "red" versus "blue" America.

This is what Walter Williams wrote immediately after the 2000 vote:

"While who won how many counties is irrelevant to the presidential selection process, it says something about the degree of national polarization. What are the characteristics of counties won by Bush versus those won by Gore? The values, politics and religion of the counties in the southern, western, and rural sections of the country, won by Bush are not like those in the mostly coastal, highly populated counties won by Gore. The Bush counties are: more conservative and respectful of traditional values, pro-life, more religious, and have less social pathology such as high crime, illegitimacy and deviancy…"

It's decency vs. indecency. Bush is criticized by Kerry for not "changing the tone in Washington," nor for "united the country," but you cannot unite a nation where over 40% of the people despise the things which have traditionally made this nation strong.

...they are afraid that the military are as incompetent and misguided as they themselves are.

Yes...good point. They are restricted by the perimeter of their own consciousness. That likely explains their obsession with trying to raise it their entire lives.

Much like dogs and cats (it has been said) don't perceive colors other than black or white. How can they be expected to 'engage' with others who do see the colors?

Thanks for the Kerrey quote...more aid & comfort for the enemy.

--"Iraqi marchers break through US roadblocks in bid to relieve rebel bastion."- please check out this thread.--

Maybe some of the lemming would like to explain how unarmed civilians break through the Marines?

I tell you how. By having their hand tied just exactly like Nam. We have civilians shooting at us, shoot and scoot.
The first MarDiv has a new motto: Do no harm First. We are afraid to fight hard for fear on EMBOLDENING the enemy as Ms Rice stated today.

ONE well place 500 lb bomb at those scumbags would have run away. Oh yes and quite a few would have been sent to the Muslim heaven.

The enemy needs to be worrying about emboldening US!

He just can't seem to focus on the moment...too much pot, maybe?

It sure seems when he gets a thought in his head he can't let it go and dissolves almost into a badgering style. The odd thing about him is he apologized in advance of his questions for his tone.

Popping in to make an observation of Bob Kur talking about the August PDB and he played a bit of Rice commenting on it where she said it lacked specifics.

Kur said Bob Kerrey brought out it referred to hijackings and Kur says "NBC has learned" hijackings to get prisoners released.

Well. I heard this earlier but now that he repeated it I'll get my jaw off the floor at this gross reportorial incompetance.

I, a housewife already knew what "NBC had learned" because Condoleezza Rice testified to it and I heard it from her mouth with my own ears.

Do we need more proof that these reporters take the dems whispering talking points in their ears over the state of the record? Why does Kur report in this manner as if Rice was hedging and not forthcoming?

She said the hijacking chatter was in the nature of taking hostages to pressure for the release of prisoners who had committed the '93 bombing.

Was only able to watch a little bit of this at work, when Kerry was questioning her. I heard it was one of the better parts. She did not allow him to ask her a question and then move on before she was finished her answer. Nor would she allow him to back her into a corner. She was stupendous!

There is a double standard for Republican Presidents. Agreed.

Democrats don't like the use of military force, unless they are in charge.

"Do we need more proof that these reporters take the dems whispering talking points..."

No one has to convince me. They have been doing it for years.

...odd thing about him is he apologized in advance of his questions...

Is it really odd? He knew he was about to fire what he believed to be political torpedoes into a black female sitting alone at the table. For the post-modern liberal, such an act deserves SOME sort of explanation....

Yeah, they sure are a sensitive group, aren't they? Lazio, with all of the stature of a teenager at a soda shop, invaded Hillary's space which was unnerving to her. And Dick Clarke was downright intimidated by the President asking him, in 5 words, to look into Iraq. But Condi Rice is expected to sit alone at a table with a gaggle of photographers and be questioned in front of the world like she's a mass murderer.

John Gibson on FNC hinted earlier that the White house may be releasing this Aug. 6, 2001 classified memo titled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside United States." as early as tonight.

Clinton, the lucking little $hit, got to keep this quiet. He didn't have to endure the days of speculating by the media, like Condi. I hate the libs!

WOW! A Clinton not hogging the spotlight?

One would think he would take every opportunity to comment on Dr. Rice's testimony. Is he ducking the Partisan Press?
