Don't be hard on yourself. The widows working with the commission are mainly interested in this commission making it look like Bush's fault. People who were interested in a full and fair hearing would not have been cheering on Benvenista. I think it was on Fox News this morning that I heard someone allude to Ashcroft being "out to lunch" on all this in the days leading up to 9/11. The Dems on this commission are looking for a scapegoat in the Bush Administration. So far they've struck out on those of the Bush Administration that have appeared. I'm sure you're right about them going after Ashcroft next. I hope the Attorney General mentions the fact that no one on either side during his confirmation hearings asked him any questions about terrorism or how he'd approach protecting this country.
