I wonder where the best place to aim the rock is. . .
Having spent a considerable amount of time throwing rocks and things at the webs of what we called banana spiders in my youth, I'd say right in the middle. You get the spider at the same time. You seem to be hitting it pretty accurately from what I'm reading.
I did spend a lot of time hitting around the web personally, but it never took the web down even though it tore it up pretty bad. Even hitting the middle didn't take the web down completely.
Throwing rocks accurately is pretty tough. I practiced a lot. When I tired of missing big sticks worked the best as they caused massive damage to the web.
Lots of entrenched spiders in our government and it looks like you've gathered some pretty big sticks all on your own. The exteminators are out of town though and they won't come in even if called.
