Don't worry about that "sniper" you posted at ten. Our Marines will outshoot him with their M-16A2's, not to mention their M-14 designated marksmen, M-24 snipers, .50 caliber sniper etc. That guy probably has a hole in his forehead as we speak, if he was close enough to engage our troops.

Notice that he's squinting one eye closed. The whole purpose of a red dot scope is to allow you to keep both eyes open while shooting.

Basically, you are looking at amatuers amongst our enemies. Their mobility is severely compromised, for one thing, because none of them are carrying rations. That limits most of them to within walking distance of their home...which can be an inconvenient place to have to go back to for 3 meals a day. Eat less and you become less effective as a fighter, too.

Nor do any of them seem to have much ammo on hand. That pretty well limits them to being mere cannon fodder.

But these are precisely the types of hotheads who we need to be killing and capturing in order to pacify and stabilize Iraq. The sooner that these amatuers are dealt with, the better.

You ever been shot? When holes start opening up in your body, it dosen't much matter if it is a 5.56 or 7.62 entry wound. You are shot all the same. Ever try doing much of anything after you have been shot? Difficult to do no matter what caliber.

But he's most likely one of their snipers. Our snipers have 7.62x51, .300 WinMag or .50 BMG, and much better optics. Better training too. Take a good look him, this guy won't be around long.

Trust me, he will be a bad shot with that inherently bad piece of hardware!
I own the exact same model: Romanian variant of the Dragunov; The stock texture & color exactly matches mine.

It is very unreliable when compared to western weapon systems.
On a good day it can group it shots within 6 inches @ 300 yards.

Pretty darn sure that is just an AK, meaning 7.62x39 not x54, a carbine caliber round with about the same energy as a 223. As for "bad shot", I read the first ambush today of the Marines features 1 RPG round and 200 AK rounds fired from ambush, from a house, at a squad of 9 Marines in the street, 60 feet away. One Marines was wounded and evac'ed successfully - serious but he'll live. Not exactly stellar shooting. (As for this git, glasses mit scope, eye closed, awkward hold, bright blue sleeve shouting "here I am" - not exactly Tom Berenger...)
