Most dangerous hoods I've lived near would have to have been those in Miami NW 79th Street ESPECIALLY west of I-95 has got to be the scariest place I have ever driven on. Even the worst colonia in Mexico DF seemes safer and at least places like East New York in Brooklyn have some "normal" blocks. Hell, I even hated driving toward the causeway east of I-95. Its crackwhore central up to the intercoastal on that street!

My parents were driving on I-95 through the Miami area one time. I was riding with them and we looked out the window right around the Dade-Broward county line.
Everyone had the same reaction at the same time. "Looks like Detroit".
