Most of the immigrants today are Mexicans in near poverty who cross the border to take advantage of America's social programs. I happen to have had very positive life experiences with Mexicans. I have a very positive attitude toward them. All that being said, it has never for a moment lead me to an attitude of throwing the gates wide open.

Amen brother, I hope you're right.

Thanks for the post. Your posts put me to bed early last night, and I expect they will tonight.

You are right in the particular, but wrong, wrong, wrong in your conclusion. These events did take place in different time frames, SO WHAT! they clearly show the Chinese were determined to be in control of their own cultural development. They demonstrate this fact time and time again over a history that is thousands of years old. Interesting that you think it is fine for Isreal to build a wall(I do too) and you stubbornly refuse to admit what is obvious to everyone about Chinese history, and at the same time you think it is wrong for Euro-Americans to have perfectly normal protective feelings about their culture. Exactly the ridiculous double standard I have been talking about.

CAucasian is a race, Anglo-Saxon/American is a culture and America is a civilisation distinct from the English civilisation (similar but distinct) as is French etc.Maybe you're STARTING to get it (just starting).
Now try to digest this: our civilization is MUCH closer to England than to France.
Nes pas?
To: ronnieb
It is not racist to discuss or be concerned about preserving one's culture. Thank you! There are several people on this thread who do not agree with that, but they're wrong.

Close the door to all immigration. Maybe allow more Swedish bikini team members, but that's it.

The latinos we refer to mostly come from Mexico which are related to South American peoples, not Spanish, That must be why they mostly have names like Rodrigues, Cardones, Gonzales, and so forth. The Spanish conquered what is now Mexico first, although not by all that much. The old Spanish Colonial cities of St. Petersburg (FL, USA), San Juan (Puerto Rico, USA), Campeche (Campeche MX), and Barranquilla (Columbia) have much in common. They are/were all walled cities. The walls designed to keep out the pirates (who were often English). Campeche calls their baseball team "The Pirates" (Los Piratas).
The Mexicans are not related to South American peoples, except in so far as they share Spanish ancestry, and Amerind ancestry, although the Amerind ancestors represents a large diversity of cultures. (Aztec, Maya, Inca, and many others)

I say that the wall was not built to stop immigrants but for defence. The building of the wall and China's closing off from the world are different issues.

Well, then, count this as a smear effort by the papers. And what else is new?

who WAS Clinton's father? Most probably Mr. Blythe, of Grayson county, Texas. But maybe not the Mr. Blythe who was married to his mother and killed in a car wreck before he was born. (the Arkanicides may have started really early? His mother was an Arkie ). His father may have been that Mr. Blythe's married brother.

I say that the wall was not built to stop immigrants but for defence And just maybe for the defense of their culture? A country has the right to do that when their country is being invaded by a foreign nation, just like America is.
