All my cats have loved attention, so I'm not sure where the aloof reputation of cats came from. My last kitty wouldn't give birth unless I was there petting her.
My current cat is always pawing at me to get on my lap and be petted, or meowing forlornly if he finds himself in a room or hall I am not in.
He makes me really wish he'd be more aloof....

Maybe before I die.....
