Our oldest made Eagle last summer (much to our relief) and the younger is one project away. I decided to make a FR profile page today that includes that recent pic of President Bush with 2 scouts.

Will you continue to be involved in scouts after the boys are gone?

I think that my husband and I will still be involved, perhaps, not as much but still willing to help out here and there. We have so many close friends that I have met through BSA.

The camp director from the San Diego BSA day camp that is held at the park that the protest is about was my instructor for Natioal Camp school.

I would have been here sooner, but Mom had more computer withdrawals then me!

I have a wonderful girl scout troop, the girls and mom's delivered meals us last week. 3DJoy was glad to not have to cook, too! My assistant leader position is on hold until I get strong enough.

5 days in a hospital, let me tell you, my own bed was wonderful! Speech a little marbled, but only I notice it! Mom is heading out tomorrow (if the snow doesn't hold her up!), and can come back anytime if I need her! "only" 8 hours to Virginia!

Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts. Daily progess is good. Still nap in the day! Somehow you don't get good sleep while you are in a hospital!

Sue (ha.. who is 41? Not me!!)

Honey you forget, I don't do pics on the internet, at least not until either Jim Rob or Mountain girl teaches me how.

Those were posted on his website.

Speaking of mountain girl has anyone heard from her? I don't remember her showing up on FR for her birthday greetings.

I was close, I saw them on the computer! LOL (blonde)

She did respond to her greetings, I saw one post from her. That is all I have seen lately though.

Somehow you don't get good sleep while you are in a hospital!

I have come to the conclusion that people in the hospital are there to be taken care of not for rest. Unforunately being taken care of is exhausting when you are sick and you need more rest. I wish that the medical community could figure out a way to take care of the patient and allow them the quiet they need to rest.

One time I had a nurse wake me from a sound sleep, and ask me if I needed a sleeping pill! What is wrong with that statement???!

Perhaps someone will come up with a type of moniter system that will allow them to assess the patient from afar so they can tell that you are in a deep sleep, having trouble, or awake and fine.

Technology has already created those finger moniters that allow them to read the patients O2 level in the blood without having to go through those painful artial blood draws.

Hi Ms Upper Peninsula.. love your profile page (that you JUST did).. what a fun group of pictures.

Your Sadie looks a bit like my Cali.. *part of my screen name* Cali was with me as an orphan at about 6 days of age.. she opened her eyes on the fourth day I had her. That was 16 years ago. She is one of Many pets who ramble around here. Right now she is vying for a position atop the keyboard.. grrr..

I made one trip to upper Peninsula with two friends a few years ago rock hounding/mineral hunting.. went thru waste piles in mines & various treasure hunts. Beautiful part of USA! Lake Superior is gorgeous & the gorgeous rocks abounding the beach !!!! a rock hound dream.

I try to read this thread every day but often do not post.. so just giving you a quick hello & belated welcome to FR and the Dose

I am praying for you. I had a stroke about a month ago and I am now almost back to normal functioning and you will be too.
It gets easier and more encouraging as time passes. I'm glad your troop brought you meals. That helps a lot. My neighbor brought me soup too.

Thanks for the nice greeting! You made my day. Yup, this area is pretty and Spring really is coming. Really.

Your Sadie looks a bit like my Cali.. :
I kind of sort of already thought that too because I've lurked so much at ATRW that I think I've seen Cali a couple of times.

***There's always the story about the "yawning boy" in FL. ***

Was that a "for real" or was it edited in? I heard different stories all day today about CNN saying the WH said it was fake, then CNN was saying they got spoofed . . . anyone know the REAL story?

It was a hilarious clip; the boy yawned, stretched, looked at his watch . . .
