I've had a nervous breakdown.

Screwed me up for a year.

I'm also a chronic depressive, was on Zoloft for 6 months after 9-11, had a REALLY sucky child-hood, and have been diagnosed with Post Trautaumatic Stress Syndrome.

I have a spinal curvature and a bum hip and have had major surgery 13 times. I've got metal rods in my back right now.

I ought to be getting a free ride in life, according to Society, because it's not my Fault.

Guess what? I don't pull stuff like this and I never have.

I can also tell right from wrong, and I'm a good Mom.

Kick her butt. Hard.

Kick her butt. Hard.

Yep, that will straighten her right out if she's had a nervous breakdown.

Or better yet, how about shock treatments? Maybe go back to the way of thinking in the 40s and just lock her up in an asylum, how would you have liked that treatment when going through your illness?

Or they could go the 'ole Joe Kennedy route and lobotomize the girl and get it over with.

You have jumped to some conclusions.

I would say that she should be charged.

She should be made to understand what she did.

The punishment should fit the understanding however and after the medical people have seen her and recommended a treatment.

It is obvious, that she cannot be running loose right now.

Any monetary fine would be useless and her parents would pay it, so I would order court supervised probation after involuntary hospitalization for a period of time.

I think that would be better than to just jail her for the offense. This is the correct way to handle mental illness and it does not let the person off or excuse the behaviour.
