Agreed. For sound bytes I wouldn't put it past them to take her comments out of context and use them to the most harmful effect possible. White House protestations will be met with teeeeny tiny polite retractions buried deep in the classified sections of the paper or along the CNN "crawl." The damage will be done and that's the point.
