Kerry has been missing from the media limelight. The Democrats have a choice: Either make a big whopping deal about Dr. Rice & have have the country focus on HER & the commission OR focus on their presidential candidate. Since they chose Dr. Rice, JF Kerry will be un-campaigning for while. ;)
To: MNJohnnie
Precisely. Had Condi testified, say, last Monday, who would have noticed? But now that the Dems/media have been caterwalling for the past week about her refusal to testify publicly, now the public will be paying attention. Plus, after Clarke's song and dance last week, the White House knows what the questions will be, AND will have the last word. Brilliant strategery!

I think I overheard him say, "Anyone leaking previous secret testimony should be castrated. That includes Hillary Clinton."
To: Graymatter
Well, you may have a point. All the Clintons care about is Billy's legacy, and as long as W is beloved by the nation, Slick's legacy is in the toilet. Tearing Bush down, even after he leaves office, will be the easiest way to put "The Stain" back up on Mt. Rushmore, if you know what I mean.

The longer the focus is kept of Kerry, the better. :)

Fred Barnes from FNC just said that only 5 MEMBERS from the 9/11 Commission showed up in the first interview
If Condi Rice is so important .. THEY WHERE WERE THE OTHER 5 MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION

Add to it, since Clinton and Gore finally have decided to testify, they have the appearance of caving in to the White House.

Fred Barnes just said two things on FNC I had not heard before:
1. When Condi Rice testified privately to the 9/11 Commission, of the 10 commissioners, only five showed up!
Fred thought that was amazing considering how much importance the commission has put on her testimony.
2. Fred mentioned that when Chairman Kean gave a press conference today he called for Rice to merely repeat the same stuff publicly that she said privately. What is the point of that?

I loved what he said before that too!
"When Condi shows up to testify, Condi will blow Clarke and that commission away."

2. Fred mentioned that when Chairman Kean gave a press conference today he called for Rice to merely repeat the same stuff publicly that she said privately. What is the point of that? This may or may not be the reason, but I've read the commission did not provide a transcript of her private testimony for the record. In otherwords, feckless, shoddy, lazy recordkeeping.

He sure did. Maybe there is something to the rumor, although Condi generally likes football players, which Juan sure isn't. LOL

OMG ! Did he say cabinet meetings ? As usual Press is wrong. Clinton held hundreds of press briefings that went on ad nauseum but few cabinet meetings. If I'm not mistaken in 1998 he didn't have a single meeting with his cabinet until sometime in September and even then some members were absent.

Wow. I hope this point makes the rounds! This Commission is one of the biggest frauds I've seen in politics, and considering the magnitude of the issue being investigated, this commission is guilty of gross negligence.

The whole reason for the flippin' Commission is PR!!!
*****
Brit just showed a clip of Kean saying that Rice gave such good testimony when she appeared before the Commission that he would like the to REPlicate her testimony.
Brit said if they already have her testimony, why would they need her to testify again. After Fred made some good observations, Juan said that she owes it to the families in the audience!!! to let them hear what she has to say.
Juan is a BRAINDEAD parrot! I refuse to listen to one word he says in the future.
The "families" at the hearings are as relevant to her testimony as the rabble who showed up at Rove's house on Sunday.

No chance to grandstand in a private interview. That's why so few of the members showed up to Condi's meeting with the commission.

I say let those family members rabble rouse at Condi's hearing. The viewing public will get the idea this isn't about investigating 9/11, it's about slashing and burning the Bush administration over the Florida idiocy and their sheer hatred of Bush.
