so you are saying that Nicosia is pro-Kerry, so the story he is trying to spin is that the Republicans stole the files from him?

FBI Papers on Kerry Stolen from Marin County Author

I saw Nicosia on CNN last night. I have to tell you, he comes off as a kook.

By Marin standards he likely comes off as completely normal.

Heard of Watergate? Get ready for Lowellgate.

On Sept. 18, 1972, the evening before the primary election during his second attempt for Congress, Kerry's brother Cameron and one Thomas Vallely, both part of his current campaign team, were arrested by Lowell police at 1:40 a.m. and charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny. The two were apprehended in the basement of a building whose door had been forced open, police said. It housed the headquarters of candidate DiFruscia. The Watergate scandal was making headlines at this time, and it was called the Lowell Watergate.

"They wanted to sever my telephone lines," DiFruscia said recently. Had those lines been cut, Kerry's opponent would not have been able to telephone supporters on Election Day to get out the vote and coordinate poll watchers, vital roles in a close election. "I do not know if they wanted to break into my office," says DiFruscia today. At the time he said, "All my IBM cards and the list of my voter identification in the greater Lowell area are in my headquarters."

Cameron and Vallely, along with David Thorne, who was Kerry's campaign manager at the time and has been close to him since they attended Yale together, did not deny the two entered the building in which they were captured. They said at the time they were in the cellar of the building to check their own telephone lines because they had received an anonymous call warning they would be cut.

I'm not sure Rush calling for an investigation will be taken seriously by anyone who counts.

He may not be alone. This story isn't going away.

Kerry's Other War Record (John Fund of WSJ targets VVAW Assassin Plot)

Wall Street Journal ^ | March 29th, 2004 | John Fund
Monday, March 29, 2004 12:01 a.m. ESTJohn Kerry mentions his service in Vietnam so frequently that it has become a running joke on the campaign press plane. He seldom if ever mentions his postwar activities as a national coordinator and principal spokesman for Vietnam Veterans Against the War, a group he says he quit in 1971 because he was concerned about its radical agenda. One reason may be that a credibility gap has started to widen over his antiwar history, and he clearly doesn't want to discuss it at length. His campaign is issuing misleading and evasive statements on his...

Since last Wednesday, we went to Panama City Beach - temporary home to thousands of hoodlums and horrific traffic jams. I knew about Kerry's previously denied attendance at the meeting, but was unaware the files had been stolen. Sounds like a Kerry Kampaigner has been busy.

Yeah, Nicosia strikes me as fairminded, or did before this "burglary," or whatever it was.

The VVAW Assassination Discussion - "A lot of people were convinced that this was the way to do it."

March 25, 2004 | Compiled
Sometime during a national meeting of the Vietnam Veterans Against The War (VVAW) held November 12-14, 1971 there was an intense "discussion" and vote on a plan offered by Scott Camil to assassinate top Congressional leaders who had voted to continue funding the war in Vietnam. There has been much discussion here and some in the media of this topic. The details are getting confused, and few people have seen any of the original source material. I first came upon the subject in early February when I was looking for information about Kerry in "Winter Soldiers," by Richard Staciewicz. The...

Kerry Still Backpedaling on Presence at 1971 Anti-War Meetings

CNS News.com ^ | March 24th, 2004 | Mark Morano
(CNSNews.com) - Five days after CNSNews.com reported that Democrat John Kerry had attended a 1971 anti-war meeting at which the possible assassination of U.S. senators was discussed, the presidential hopeful is still backpedaling on statements regarding his whereabouts during that meeting. Kerry at first denied attending the November 1971 meeting of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) in Kansas City, Mo. According to FBI files obtained by CNSNews.com, that 1971 meeting included talk of possibly assassinating U.S. senators. VVAW members discussed targeting then-Senators Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, John Tower of Texas and John Stennis of Mississippi because of...

KANSAS CITY - (KRT) - Confronted with 32-year-old FBI records, Sen. John Kerry's campaign all but conceded he attended a 1971 Kansas City meeting where a fellow anti-war veteran called for political assassinations. Those active in Vietnam Veterans Against the War at the time stress that the suggestion for such a violent approach was angrily rejected. They say their memories do not include Kerry taking part in the radical discussion. A statement Thursday by Kerry's camp said the Massachusetts Democrat did not recall the meeting, although FBI surveillance material and the group's archives clearly show that Kerry resigned from his...

(CNSNews.com) - A Vietnam War historian and supporter of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has told CNSNews.com that Kerry is lying about key events related to his anti-war activities in 1971. Kerry said he hasn't spoken to former anti-war associate Al Hubbard since the two men appeared side by side on national television in April 1971, but according to author Gerald Nicosia, that assertion is wrong. So is Kerry's insistence that he did not attend a November 1971 meeting of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), at which group members discussed the possibility of assassinating U.S. senators who were still...

The anti-war group that John Kerry was the principal spokesman for debated and voted on a plot to assassinate politicians who supported the Vietnam War. Mr. Kerry denies being present at the November 12-15, 1971, meeting in Kansas City of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and says he quit the group before the meeting. But according to the current head of Missouri Veterans for Kerry, Randy Barnes, Mr. Kerry, who was then 27,was at the meeting, voted against the plot, and then orally resigned from the organization. Mr. Barnes was present as part of the Kansas City host chapter for the...

I was watching Fox and Friends this morning when Nicosia calls in and tells Mike he thinks that the Republicans stole the files as they had the most to gain!

I hope this gets trumpeted from the rooftops. The louder the accusation of this sort, the more foolish they look when some bright bulb realises the following:

These were FOIA documents. You and I could get them. Why would the RNC risk getting caught in an embarrassing and politically damaging burglary when they could just have some intern diddy-bop over to the National Archives or wherever with a few bucks in hand and get everything they have?

I love goofy paranoid Liberals. They're so entertaining to watch.

OK, well that explains it then. Kerry is trying to insulate himself from future revelations by saying "the republicans stole my FBI files" every time something comes up.

Let's see how many months it takes Rove to react to this and plan for it.

Word to the wise: If you have hot information of an explosive nature, make sure you keep a second copy of the files someplace secure.

The 'files' that Nicosia had would have to be photocopies, unless he had obtained original FBI documents, which isn't legally done. Anything obtained under FOIA is released through redacted photocopies, not by giving up the originals.

He was interviewed by phone and that is EXACTLY what he said. He suspected it was Republicans because he was giving copies of the files to Kerry's camp. Also said the burglary was very professional -- the police had to point out where the breakin occurred.

I'm wondering about this guy.
