What's your favorite flag of the world? Least favorite?

Some time ago, browsing through my friend's atlas, I realised that there are significant differences in quality between the flags of different countries. Some are good, some are bad. Some countries have clearly taken care in the choice of colours, layout, and design. Others have been lazy, stolen the flags of their neighbours, or just designed flags that are clearly supposed to cause pain to those who look at them.
To my surprise, there is no international body responsible for upholding simple standards of vexillilic aesthetics. Nor do the UN or Interpol have the power to call in and punish those responsible for such atrocities as the Brazilian or Cypriot flags. I suppose there is probably a conspiracy of rich western nations (those with permanent seats on the UN security council, no doubt) to prevent such crimes from being brought to justice; however, in the meantime I am giving letter grades to the existing flags of the world.

The above was written by a blogger. I do not agree with his choices, but it is an interesting list. What are your favorites, least favorites?
To: watsonfellow
Least: Rainbow flags I see on vehicle bumpers.

No, I believe state and other political flags cannot be considered, only flags of nation-states or territories/colonies/dependencies.

You asked my opinion. You got it. Now take your silly little thread over to Chat.

I've been thinking of flying the flag of South Vietnam (under the US flag, of course) as we approach the November election. Perhaps it's too subtle a statement.
It's a yellow field with the middle third consisting of 3 horizontal stripes of red (and thus 2, of equal width, of the same background yellow; hence each of these center stripes is about 1/15 of the width or height of the flag, while the two outside yellow stripes are each 1/3 of the height of the flag).

I won't apologize for this but my favorite is the STARS and STRIPES and no other one even comes close.

Brazil
Flag Description:
green with a large yellow diamond in the center bearing a blue celestial globe with 27 white five-pointed stars (one for each state and the Federal District) arranged in the same pattern as the night sky over Brazil; the globe has a white equatorial band with the motto ORDEM E PROGRESSO (Order and Progress)

I like Denmark's, dislike many (e.g. Burundi) and can't see why Antarctica even has a flag. Proper etiquette for the UN flag is burning it.

I think they have the best state motto, it is something like "Womany Words, Manly Deeds" or something like that.
To: watsonfellow
Obviously, the Best Flag belongs to the U.S.
End of story

Our county just passed a resolution supporting that free flag of Vietnam, and those immigrants love of the US and her liberty. Lots of meaning in that flag, as in ours :)

Let's branch this thread off into a discussion of what is the best fruits in the world. For me, it's a tossup between blueberries and Courtney Love. I was also thinking of Howard Dean but he's more of a fruitcake than just a plain fruit.
