My father, known on here as RANGERAIRBORNE, passed away this morning at 4am alaska time.

I don't really know where to post this, so I am putting it here.

Dear Lady,you have my sincerest of sympathy for you loss.
As member of the world's foremost elite light infantry,he served hiscountry.As astute ,sharp witted poster,he provided the Freepers here with his keen observations and prose.And as he shuffled off this mortal coil,there is no doubt that he hit the Gates of St. Peter with yet another elite formation...HOOOOAGH!!

My father *hated* typos, he was a Grammar Nazi, as we used to call him. ;) (So am I, now...the apple doesn't fall far).

To think that, during some of those posts he was writing with about 1/3 of his normal vision, and no way to "see" where he was missing pieces of the picture...it's amazing he was able to hunt and peck so well at all.

Again, for those FReepers around/in Anch, Dad's funeral will meet up at the gates of Ft. Richardson at 11 am on Tuesday, to be escorted onto post. A celebration of his life will be directly after those services, and held at the VFW (across the street from the Dimond Ctr, near the Sports Authority).
