Cavuto had Saxby Chamblis on and he basically said the same thing. Clarke testified before their committee, and it was totally different from what Clarke said today.

Also .. I hear there is a Wash Post article out which says that Clarke gave a briefing sometime in 1999, making a connection between Saddam (Iraq) and Al Queda (Ben Ladin) .. which Clarke now says didn't exist.

Oh for heavens' sake! This was not a "classified" conversation. This was a background briefing with a GROUP of news people. The WH owns the info - controls the info - they can release the info if they want!!

Fox didn't do anything wrong. Bob Kerry should be ashamed of himself for trying to imply that they did. And .. the 9/11 commission is going to about it from me in the morning.

Calm down, maybe you better re read who posted what! If you read carefully I happened to agree that Fox did nothing wrong.

If I didn't know any better, from the looks of the comments on this thread, I would have guessed that we got killed today. Since I know better, I'll just share with all of you that Clarke is a NOBODY in Washington now, he is radioactive with the Media, and you can expect even more revelations in the coming days. The Bush administration is not taking this lightly, and from what I am told, they feel that they won BIG-TIME today. Clarke is an angry man, looking to gain favor with the Left, and get high book sales, because he knows that he will never work in Government again for either side. This is an all-out blitz by the Left to win this upcoming election, because if they don't, so many members of Congress are leaving that Bush will end up with a Super-Majority within two years. The Democrats don't want to stay in office unless they are in charge. I was not told exactly what is going to happen, but I WAS told that by the time the Sunday shows roll around, Clarke will wish he was in the Witness Protection program. So once again, stop thinking the worst and just wait. As you should know by now, our side knows what they are doing. If the Media wont be fair, they will just go around them.

Oh, bless you for sending us this message! I have been trying all day to calm friends who don't get their news from the internet or Fox. I even had to call my son this evening and let him know what happened, because his work day only allows radio news!

Many unlikely news outlets are covering the 2002 tapes.

O'Reilly is ticked and going after Clarke if only because the 911 pannel bismirched the good name of Fox News.

This kind of day might actually bring the Republican base closer and stronger.
