In Japan, a man of Tenet's stature would have AT LEAST cut off his finger after 911. (probably much more)

Gingrich should not be on that commission, he can't be trusted, because he's blasted Bush one too many times.

Dickie Clarke swore on oath today that he would NOT accept any kind of position in any Kerry administration (God forbid and crossing myself even though I'm not Catholic)

I missed today's hearings so I'll play catch-up and read tonight. Fascinating little exchange back there. Thanks for the ping.

Why didn't someone say to Clarke - re: his 1992 interview...ARE YOU LYING NOW OR WERE YOU LYING THEN????

I have been faithful, but when the cowboys lose the faith in themselves I try to buck them up. These hearings are huge!!! Many people now think that Bush fell down on the job --thanks to Gorelick, Roemer and Ben-Veniste. The RINOs on that commission looked like a WNBA going against the Lakers--it was awful!!

faithincowboys gives us the "worst possible case synopsis." We can read it and then go back to thinking positively. Mentally refreshed, shall we say, and committed to working for this President.

You seem to be one of the many who think Bush has stumbled and fallen. That's where your moniker comes into scrutiny.

Just sent an email, Mo1. Thank you. When do we start massing in the streets in support of our President?

"His answer implied he was too important, though!"

I agree - I was just pointing out that Clarke was more worried about his pension than standing on principle. If I disagreed that strongly with the administration, I couldn't stay an extra year or two like Clarke did.

This tells me that Hillary is trying to especially discredit Dr. Rice (with this witch hunt) - remember it was Pelosi who suggested this little commission - and my question was why go after Dr. Rice? - but if Hillary suspects Dr. Rice might be a candidate in 2008 - is this just an attempt to try to marginalize her now ..?? Interesting thought!

Thank you for the link, abner. It made it very convenient to send an e-mail of complaint about the bald display of partisanship I saw today.

Thomas Kean is a director (and shareholder) of Amerada Hess Corporation, which is involved in the Hess-Delta joint venture with Delta Oil of Saudi Arabia (owned by the bin Mahfouz and Al-Amoudi clans).

I don't think there is a politician in NJ without ties to Hess.

The one poll where Bush leads unanimously is the confidence the voters have in his ability to fight terrorism. It has been steady at 60%, it is going to plummet into the 30's by the end of the week.

It's called being in touch with brutal realities. It helps us not at all to pretend we just pitched a no hitter. In actuality we are more like that Hockey player who just got driven iinto the ice. We got gang tackled and taken out on a stretcher.

That's an abundance of sports analogies, but I think they are accurate. We didn't get it done, we got run over. We didn't have to. Now the business of this forum should be getting in contact with the Commission with info about the Gore airline Commission and the Clinton Sudangate and make it clear to them that if they don't go into it, their final report will have no credibility. That is what we should concern ourselves with.

Mostly it was just Dickie Clarke that was asked about that by the commission(surprise, surprise).

He was more than happy to pontificate on it for several minutes. Too bad he hasn't a shred of credibility, so I didn't listen too much to his suggestions.
