I guess he hasn't heard of the tape that was found on him huh?I think he has. Roemer said "there are a lot of distractions out there *today*" and instructed him to just focus on memos, emails, notes and the like and not pay attention to partisan attacks. Then Clarke goes on to cite Woodward's book as evidence of how seriously or not Bush took the threat of terrorism. Unbelievable.
The only thing I can think of is he has committed himself to this course by the very writing of his book and there's not turning back and he'll try and rely on the likes of Roemer and others (witness Isikoff's and Ratner's dismissals already) to save his rear.
I would love to see him charged with perjury.

Just in the few first minutes of this Clarke seems puffed up because he is finally getting the attention he has so disparately been seeking.
Hey, hold on! I object! Roemen is leading the witness!

Unfortunately, I see no perjury as the Angle tape was a WH briefing not said under oath. I pray they ask him what version we're to believe.

See my last several posts. HE is perjuring himself like it is F*ng free.

to listen to the Clintonistas, their only sense of progress in anything was how many meetings they were engaging inCase in point, Clinton only met with Tenent twice in four years and our intelligence went down the plumbing which resulted, in part, to the 9/11 disaster.

Clarke is like the Beta wolf that lies prostrate on the ground in front of the others of the packYup, and I can think of many ways that analogy could be extended.
To: Carolinamom
Roemer was on TV last night asserting that Clarke was VERY credible. Just tuned in, and it appears Roemer is throwing softballs...

or was lying in 2002.There is more than just the 2002 tape refuting him, but that is the most tangible and potent since he impeaches himself.

Why hasn't the FBI Chief LOUIS FREEH been called to testify do you think?
Everyone says the KNEW the hijackers were in the country, and that;s the area of FBI expertise, so Louis Freeh should be called IMHO to tell what HE was doing about it!!

He ASKED to be reassigned? Not the way I heard it!
To: hobbes1
I almost wish Jim Angle HAD NOT released the tape, but had given it to Kerrey to spring on Clarke.

This is so so sad. He was either lying earlier or now. Even if his contradictry interviews come up, you will never see it on the evening news. I am afraid to say, this is bad for Bush. Very bad...

Clarke is on a mission to destroy Pres. Bush...and this committee is enabling him. If nobody on this committee asks Clarke about the Angle tape, you can bet the fix was in from the beginning.
