Homage to you since you started the daily market watch thread in its current incarnation. And yes while I stick around trying to sell shoes to the shoeless, who are shoeless because they claim to like bare feet, that market watch gang has moved on.

Soren says (at another place) that he's picked up rumors that the Chinese are cornering some of the commodities or some such.

To bad tasha's not around to give us her take on it.

A large trade deficit in manufactured goods and a surplus in agricultural goods is the profile of a Third World colony.

That's a highly subjective statement! It's also different from your previous characterization. Your previous was more honest - it was quantitative. It was also possible to rebut for that reason, which you have to agree I rebutted accurately. Your latest is QUALITATIVE, and thus open to interpretation. It can only be countered in a qualitative manner, and to be honest it's not worth it.

BTW, you are spouting "WSJ bromides" as you called them in post #136. Paul Craig Roberts who you quote is a former editor and columnist for the WSJ. ;) I'm not sure if that makes him more or less esteemed in your eyes. (more in mine, for sure. James Taranto is my favorite right wing koolaid. I even sometimes like the WSJ more than the WT! ;) )

"Just remember, the more middle class jobs we ship overseas, the more prosperous our country becomes."

Just remember, the more you demagogue, the less you have to think. Have fun fighting your strawman. You are rebutting something I didn't argue.

"As the so-called "free traders" advocate erasing the borders, eliminating patriotism, and America as a separate nation in their Globalist, One World Government quest, I'm sure that morality and ethics will also go by the wayside. "

Funny, I think free trade is swell, but don't like any of the other stuff you mentioned.

By the way, my name is Adam, not cardboard cutout.

I wish someone would post a thread that actually defines what an IT job really is. I have really offended some folks when I ask the question. Is medical transcription an IT job or a clerical job? Is customer billing an IT job or a book-keeping job? If those are considered IT then I can see why they have been offshored.

All Sowell offers is a "Don't worry, be happy" deflection.

Wrong. He offers the truth. He nailed the issue.
