What I have found weird though, especially in conversations I had just this weekend, is that some of them hate him (for the reasosn described above) and consider themselves solid Democrats, yet seem to have a lot of what would be considered generally Republican ideas (mostly taxes...particularly estate taxes).

That is the Democrats dirty little secret, that a large portion of those who consider themselvs Democrats are, in fact, fairly conservative in some way or other. The only way they keep those people from defecting is by demonizing the other side. Now, I am not going to pretend that Republicans don't demonize, but I can't remember the last Democrat that was demonized by the Republicans (Clinton dont count, he was slimified by his own, uh, slime, if you will). The Republicans used to demonize by calling the other guys commies (essentially), but that doesn't work any more. I mean, we live in an age where the Democrats get up there and say that the Republicans want to starve senior citizens.. What do the Republicans say that is even as remotely as bad?

I never hated Clinton. I felt robbed that someone with so much potential could have failed so miserably.
Actually, I don't see a lot of hate coming from right to left. I sort of get this, "Ahh, your so young..." kind of feeling - which probably pisses them off all the more.

I knew that the Democrats were in trouble when the new breed of them laughed at Bob Dole's injury from WW2.
They made fun of his hand and pencil and had loads of fun when he fell off a stairway. They are lower than scum.
When Mrs. Heinz Kerry showed up at a Move On Org meeting with a political pin on her shirt with "Asses of Evil" on it with our president and vice president on it I knew it would get worse. She handed out pins to others. That was so low class for a presidential candidates wife to be in the gutter like that. This campaign will get worse.

Here is the bottom linel

The Democrats care more about winning in the White House, then the war on terror. The defense of this country is not their number 1 priority. Plus the Liberals are still upset about the 200 election.

I have some theories on this:

True liberals live in fantasy. They want a world that will never exist. President Bush's vision of a world that is safer for America does not gel with people who don't understand the way the world works.

Lefties are cowards. The same people who don't think we should go after terrorist organizations and states also don't think we should be allowed to defend ourselves with firearms. These people would rather hear about a woman being raped than a woman shooting her would-be rapist.

Liberals are closed-minded and ignorant. While this phenomena is not exclusive to liberals, how often have you heard a liberal say: "You can't convince me of...".

Other points:
I have NEVER met a self-proclaimed liberal who had a happy home life. Not that there aren't any, but I have never met ONE.
I have NEVER met a lib who had a realistic grasp of economics.
I could go on, but this these points reflect the complete opposite end of the spectrum libs are from President Bush.

Put all the other potential reasons aside.

This is about POWER. Nothing more, nothing less.

Liberals seek a sort of Utopia where they would each hold the power of God in their hands. They deny God, because they wish God's authority for themselves. You cant question them, you cant reason with them. They are omnipotent in their own eyes and if you don't agree with them or acquiesce to them, you are evil.

Bush represents all that would keep them from their ultimate goal. They would rather see him dead, than live in a world where the kind of values that Bush defends hold sway over the world.

The Liberals and Marxists I know tend to view Republicans as stupid, and Bush, being the leader, as the stupidest of us all. Their own man, Algore, didn't score any higher in intelligence during the debates, but that wouldn't be the issue. The Liberals won't engage in argument, but instead utter slogans and issue knowing smirks while trying to shout down opposition. They continue to pretend America lacks civil rights and human rights even while admitting these rights are scarce outside the West. I won't continue to a full development of this theme here lest a student somewhere rip this off for a term paper in PoliSci and flunk the course.

"there was hatred of clinton"--You just hit on the reason the dem-rats hate Bush so much. He is the "anti-Bubba." President Bush is everything lyin' Bill could and will never be. He is honorable, says what he means and means what he says, believes in wrong and right and is not afraid to stand up and fight the good fight just like the last president the lib-dems hated--Ronald Reagan. Don't forget the coordinated DNC talking points that are going around now to get rid of Bush. The latest-- you will hear all the lib dems on the e-mail circuit touting is, "send bush back to crawfordville," just more bs talking points, but very well coordinated.

The Bush-haters that I know fall into several (overlapping) classes:

1. "Bush is stupid," comes mostly from those who knew him or his classmates while at Yale; these have no confidence at all in Bush's decision making ability and thus distrust him.

2. "The War in Iraq inhibits the fight against terrorism," comes mostly from those who supported the Afghan campaign, but do not believe that Iraq was a big supporter of al-Qaeda. They believe that resources used against Iraq should have been used searching for bin-Laden.

3. "Bush's Tax Cuts favor the Wealthy," comes mostly from the old-line socialists who believe that the government should run everything.

4. "Bush stole the election in Florida," comes mostly from Democrats who need this myth just as the Republicans needed the myth that "Kennedy stole the election in Illinois."

5. "Bush is the tool of Foreign Interests," comes mostly from the Buchannan-Gebhardt populists.

In their minds, W is not hip. The smirking, the mangled words and traditional values drive them nuts. Making matters worse is that W is successful pushing his agenda.

Well, you can go on liking Clinton (or not disliking) Clinton. Whatever you want to call it.

I have my priorities straight.

To my recollection, Reagan was very hated, and still is really. I'm not sure about Bush 41. But Reagan and GW have something in common: The Dems felt justifiably threatened by Reagan because they knew he would be a 2 termer. I believe this is the same reason the Dems feel so threatened by GW.

W. and RR have this silly notion that there's a definite right and wrong. To make matters worse, they both know which is which. The Libs only see 'shades of gray'. There's no good or evil, just different.

Liberals hate Bush because they think he's a simpleton who never deserved to be president. Besides the 2000 election, Bush speaks in absolutes, were everything liberal is situational and relative. They really hate his God-fearing beliefs, especially in Good and Evil...were liberals see all sorts of shades of gray. They hate Bush because Bush...and people like him, know who "they" are. Ironically, it is their hatred that is only exposing their true beliefs, even more.

they have no core values

To them everything is relative, there is no absolute truth, and there is no truth at all. That relativity predated Einstein's Theory of Relativity, which they liked without understanding it at all, and they also incomprensively liked Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle as if laws of physics followed social theory.

Well put.

Incidentally, the only time I hate republicans is when they make bone-headed, screw-ball mistakes like Trent Lott's. Or when they come out of left-field (heh) with ideas which would encourage illegals to come over. And say what you want, justify it however you'd like, Bush should have saved his marriage amendment for 2005. This was a tactical mistake which will lose him a lot of votes from 9/11 democrats (and though I'm of the 9/11 variety and have said what I said, I'll still vote for him so don't start with the troll stuff...). The gay thing makes him look mean, pushy, and overly concerned with people's personal lives.
