Matt Reilly, also known as 'harpseal' on Free Republic, died on March 19, 2004.
His friend Eileen is making arrangements for a Memorial service at the local VA.
Matt was a former Navy SEAL, a keen businessman, a friend to his Walker Hound, and an accomplished sailor.
He was also my friend and my business partner. I can't barely see the keyboard through my tears. He will be missed greatly.

I'll miss that old guy. Prayerts for the family. I sort of had a feeling that he wasn't in great health. Condolences to his family.

Damn. I really liked reading that guy's posts. I think you were lucky to have known him.

I am so sorry to hear this. I was on his "ping" list for economic issues.
I will miss him. He is with God, I'm sure.

Hand salute for a great FReeper.
Laz, we're all so sorry; for Harpseal, his family, the Freeper world, and you. He sorely will be missed.

That excerpt from his interview is going to make me cry. Big bump to you sonsofliberty. The greatest tribute one can give to another is often their own words.
To: Lazamataz; harpseal
God bless you, Matt. May you rest in peace and walk with Jesus.
We were all richer for knowing you.
see you on the other side, FRiend...

Harpseal was a key Freeper, and will be sorely missed. You and the rest of his friends and family have my condolences.
To: DollyCali
I agree with you 100%, but we felt we needed to respect his wishes to keep his pain private until the end.

God bless! I enjoyed his replies and his no non-sense style. He will be truly missed 'round these parts. Please pass along Free Republic's thoughts to his family.

I just read his FReeper interview from your link, netmilsmom. Wonderful questions, the answers brought tears to my eyes...thanks so much for posting the link, I remember his responses from many threads, he was a thoughtful man. I am sure he was met with unbounded love in heaven by those he wanted most to see...I am sure he heard the words he longed to hear most.
Laz, for your loss I offer the prayer of no words, only sorrow.
