Yep. Also, for such an articulate speaker (Nixon's observation), Kerry resorts to profanity surprisingly often. This has *got* to be some sort of ploy to distance himself from the image of the northeast liberal. He may indeed use rough language, but I think he's now on the lookout for opportunities to do so.

It's kind of like Gore's "Alpha Male" nonsense. Al began dressing in earth tones and got Rolling Stone to airbrush his "package"; Kerry is utilizing language that is calculated to make him more appealing to blue-collar voters and vulgar teenagers. He knows that Bush projects a very masculine image and is trying to avoid looking prissy by comparison. It is ALL calculated and disingenuous, I'm convinced.

Kerry probably got out of his chauffered SUV at 8,990 ft and walked 20 ft past the 9,000 ft marker and got back in the SUV to travel the rest of the way to the top of the ski slope. I seeriously doubt that Kerry hiked any further than necessary to get these photo-ops.

The USSS agent was probably trying to keep Kerry from skiing into a tree when he knocked him over.
