Troop Prayer Thread 10 - A Year of VICTORY!

THREE CHEERS FOR OUR WONDERFUL TROOPS, THEIR ALLIES, AND ALL WHO ARE SERVING IN SUPPORT CAPACITIES IN THE WAR ON TERROR! YOU HAVE GIVEN THIS NATION A YEAR OF VICTORY IN THAT WAR! The honor is yours, but know that we bask in your accomplishments and love you for your steadfast service on this day!
Welcome, everyone to the 10th Troop Prayer Thread! Today is the anniversary of the resumption of hostilities with Iraq, wherein our troops have made military history that shall ring down the centuries.
The troop prayer threads are dedicated to giving our troops, allies, and all who are serving the Holy Cause of Freedom, including (but not limited to) the families and loved ones waiting at home and those who are not in uniform but who are serving in dangerous situations supporting our troops and gathering intelligence spiritual support. We seek together to offer prayer, scriptures, encouraging messages, and other devotions dedicated to this purpose.
We have over the past year gathered together a prayer list of these servants of freedom. You will find it posted below. FReeper amom has been serving as our List Keeper this past year and I wish to thank and commend her for doing such a meticulous job of keeping it updated. She has also been keeping our ping list up to date. If you wish to submit a name for the prayer list or to add or take off a name from the ping list, please let either or both of us know.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, or still have phone modems, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
Thank you so much for spiritually supporting our troops, allies, support civilians, and their families.
We are grateful to God that for those who have been injured or taken back Home, He has dispatched angels to their care.

PRAYER WARRIOR FIELD TRIP!!
Put on your hiking boots and all your gear because you are going to Iraq through the words of a soldier there. His name is Joe Roche and he serves with the U.S. Army's 16th Combat Engineer Battalion in Iraq and is an adjunct fellow at the National Center for Public Policy Research, a Washington think-tank.
He makes the case that we MUST support the war effort. The attacks on our troops are not just against our military but are aimed at those of us on the homefront. The enemy wants us to wilt and go home. By God's grace, we shall stay the course.

What I neglected to say is that Oprah was especially interviewing our injured troops, and THEY were the ones who were so adamant about their Vision and dedication.

Joe Boucher's nephew was seriously wounded in Iraq and Slip 18's nephew is in Fallujah.I ask God's healing hand on Joe's nephew and protection for Slip 18's nephew.May God watch over and protect all our forces in harms way.
I thank God for the safe return of Eric,Karen,and Kalen.I am thankful Sgt Mike is safely home in the US after skin cancer surgery.
May God comfort the loved ones of all our fallen heroes and may the wounded be comforted and healed.

BLESSED FATHER GOD,
We place before you at this time all our brave young uniformed men and women and those who stand with them who are in danger in Iraq and elsewhere. We especially place before you petitions of healing for Joe Boucher's nephew who was wounded seriously in Iraq. Reach into each and every wound he has received and at a cellular level heal them. Heal the trauma and shock. If there are physical scars, or emotional scars, or mental scars, or spiritual scars, please intercede and grant healing for all of them. Let this be done for all of our precious veterans who have been injured in war and bear the marks in their bodies and souls. Stand with Joe and their entire family while they stand vigil for this young hero. Stand with all the families of those who have been injured or taken.
We are aware that Slip 18's nephew,Amelia's brother in Fallujah, xzins' son in Iraq, and our FRiend in Balad are among those in danger in this hour. We know that many more are with them. Father, we continue to ask for miracles of protection and mercy for them and their families. We are so very grateful that these have dedicated themselves to the cause of Freedom, and are willing to pay the price. But Father, we petition you that by our prayers and your intercession, you will, by your Grace and Mercy cause that price in the lives and blood of our troops and support personnel to be minimal.
These who are named represent the loved ones of all of us who are in harm's way. We reach out to Heaven and call upon you, our Father, for your help and mercy. We ask that if there is any way possible, that we may fulfill in some way the admonition to "pray without ceasing." If there is a level of our consciousness, or subconcious, or unconscious, or superconscious that we may be engaged in perpetual prayer and petitioning, we ask that we may be guided into how to do this. If it is possible, we offer ourselves to this work. Let us especially be engaged in this, if it is according to your Will and Possibility, even while we sleep and are going about our business in our daily lives. Help us to find moments in the day to place our attention on you and help us to see the larger Vision you have for this nation and the work our beloved troops are engaged in. We pray for the protection of that Vision as well as for the protection of our beloved troops and those who stand with them.
Father, we are mindful of our friends on this forum and elsewhere who are waiting for news of their loved ones. Father, grant that they are comforted and strengthened while they wait. Grant that they have abundant faith and the grace to feel your loving touch in these bleak hours of facing the Unknown. Grant them peace of mind and calmness of spirit. If they are so inclined, as they meditate on the magnificent and merciful heart of our Lord, let there be an upliftment and a grace and miracle of love and comfort which does not come from this world.
We surrender these loved ones to you and trust your compassionate keeping. We ask that all our prayers will be adjusted according to thy Will and that they will be acceptable unto you. Father, we praise you and magnify your Name in the earth!

in my heart.
The text and aim of the prayer applies even now, in this day and hour.
President Roosevelt gave the following prayer in a radio address to the American people
shortly after the beginning of D Day, June 6, 1944:
In this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:
Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty
endeavor
to set free a suffering humanity.
Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their
hearts, steadfastness to their faith.
They will need Thy blessings
. They will be sore tried, by night and by day,
without rest until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and
flame. Men's souls will be shaken with the violence of war.
For these men are lately drawn from the ways of peace. They fight not for the
lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight
to let justice arise, and for tolerance and good will among all Thy people. They
yearn but for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home.
