THREE CHEERS FOR OUR WONDERFUL TROOPS, THEIR ALLIES, AND ALL WHO ARE SERVING IN SUPPORT CAPACITIES IN THE WAR ON TERROR! YOU HAVE GIVEN THIS NATION A YEAR OF VICTORY IN THAT WAR! The honor is yours, but know that we bask in your accomplishments and love you for your steadfast service on this day!
Welcome, everyone to the 10th Troop Prayer Thread! Today is the anniversary of the resumption of hostilities with Iraq, wherein our troops have made military history that shall ring down the centuries.
The troop prayer threads are dedicated to giving our troops, allies, and all who are serving the Holy Cause of Freedom, including (but not limited to) the families and loved ones waiting at home and those who are not in uniform but who are serving in dangerous situations supporting our troops and gathering intelligence spiritual support. We seek together to offer prayer, scriptures, encouraging messages, and other devotions dedicated to this purpose.
We have over the past year gathered together a prayer list of these servants of freedom. You will find it posted below. FReeper amom has been serving as our List Keeper this past year and I wish to thank and commend her for doing such a meticulous job of keeping it updated. She has also been keeping our ping list up to date. If you wish to submit a name for the prayer list or to add or take off a name from the ping list, please let either or both of us know.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, or still have phone modems, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
Thank you so much for spiritually supporting our troops, allies, support civilians, and their families.
We are grateful to God that for those who have been injured or taken back Home, He has dispatched angels to their care.

Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
--As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?"
Taken from the book, "A Man Called Intrepid" by William Stevenson about William Stephenson, the head of British intelligence services prior to and during WWII. He wrote this at the very beginnings of the Battle of Britain and shared it with Eleanor Roosevelt.
STAR SPANGELED BANNER
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AMERICA, WE LOVE YOU!
AND OUR LOVE IS GREAT ENOUGH TO HOLD YOU ETERNALLY VICTORIOUS IN THE LIGHT!
I join in your prayer for all of our heroes both in harm's way and at home and for all who are now truly at home in their eternal rest.
Prayers are continuing, patriciaruth. God bless our precious Stryker brigade!
Amen.
Thanks for the post on the four immortal chaplains. Very inspiring. :-)
While I am online with you all today and knowing the power of prayer we can muster on these forums I'd like to ask for prayers of safe keeping for my 18 year old great niece who landed in Bahgdad 3 weeks ago.
Her name is Jessica and she went into the army right out of high school. She actually got a sharp shooter medal while in training. She might need it as she is a convoy driver just like the girl's and guys who got ambushed, killed and kidnapped.
She was very anxious to go and serve her country, her mother is my closest niece and I can't imagine how she is coping. But she is very proud of Jess, as am I, except I am very worried everyday. As are all of us, I'm sure.
I wish we could surround her and all the rest of the service men and women with a cloak of prayer protection.
Here's Jessica's picture the day she shipped out for Iraq:
Amen
Almighty and eternal God, those who take refuge in you will be glad.
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm. May the power of your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise you for your loving care.
We are honored to add Jessica to our prayer list, hergus.
MERCIFUL MIGHTY FATHER GOD,
Together we come before you and petition you on behalf of Jessica, hergus's 18 year old great niece, who is now in-country in Iraq.
Wrap her in one of our prayer blankets composed of our prayers and your love. Let it radiate with all the qualities of love, wisdom, protection, courage, truth, discipline, service, and mercy which she will need. We ask that you will place over her at all times the Whole Armor of God as a golden chain mail. Let the angels surround her with seraphic rings of invincibility, invulnerability, and invisibility according the need of the hour. Grant her an extraordinary ability to hear your still small voice at all times. This which we call forth for Jessica we call forth for all who are standing for Freedom in this hour.
For those who are holding vigil for her, grant them a halo of your True Peace and Calm. Hold them in your arms and magnify their faith in your power, mercy and compassion.
Father, we give thanks together for such a magnificent young woman full of life and dreams, who loves this nation enough to place herself between her loved home and the war's desolation. We give thanks for all who have made the choice to hear your Call of Freedom and Liberation. We owe these young people and all our veterans who came before them everything. Bless them all abundantly and let the love we have in our hearts for them and their service reach them wherever they are.
Let teams of angels clear the way for the various missions which our troops in the 5 branches of service and the intelligence services are executing. Let teams of angels surround those who are our allies. Let those angels surround our contract and support personnel. Raise up, guide, guard, direct and protect the true Iraqi Freedom fighters who are seeking to forge a new nation alongside the Coalition.
We praise you, Father, and thank you for your guidance, Divine Plan and Will.
amen
I join in prayer for Jessica and all our loved ones in harm's way!
Offering my prayers
A big amen to a beautifully written prayer.
Hi Tex, saw this thread.

"I was informed today that my cousin's son Jordan, a corporal with the U.S. Marines, was wounded in a combat in Iraq and is being flown to Germany for surgery. Please say a prayer for Jordan and his parents David and Delene."
Update at post #89:
Hello to everyone, This is an update on Jordan...from a e-mail from my Aunt. I want to thank you all for your prayers.
"As you all know Jordan has been in Fallujah with the Marines. We got the news yesterday (Friday) that he has been wounded and after a couple of surgeries
for injury to his hands, forearms, feet and legs is on his way to a hospital in Germany. Jordan, himself, made the phone call home and said he had gotten some sleep, was eating and is not in pain. That is all we know at this point.
Delene called the Red Cross and was told that if she had not heard in 36 hours (Sunday afternoon) to call back and they would get involved for information.
Please, please say a special prayer for him."
Heads up prayers needed for Jordon. Please see ican'tbelieveit's post above.
Prayers for Jordon and all concerned with his healing.
Please keep us posted.
Amen bttt

Blessed Heavenly Father,
We place before you the one known to us a Jordan. His arms and legs were wounded recently and reports to us are sketchy, but we understand he is conscious. He states that his pain is being managed well. We are so grateful for this news.
Father, we ask that you will enter into his entire consciousness, being and world. Comfort him at all levels of his being, body, mind, soul, and spirit. Heal him at all of those levels. Enter into the cellular structures of the injured tissues and maximize the healing potentials. Overshadow the doctors, nurses, and medical professionals working with him. Let all surgeries, medications, physical therapy, nutrition, antibiotics, pain therapies and all other interventions be 100% effective. Minimize any and all detrimental side effects of his medications.
Heal his heart of any and all burdensome effects of what he may have seen or had to do in order to fulfill his duties and obligations in battle. Surround him with a very special team of angels to minister to him at all levels with abundant portions of your mercy.
We place on the altar David and Delene and his entire circle of family and friends. Assist them while they hold vigil for him. Grant them extraordinary ability to support him in the all the different ways he needs them. Grant them wisdom and insight. Grant them courage and compassion. Grant them healing while they go through the anguish of seeing their loved one suffer.
For those of us who send our prayers and love to Jordan and his family, grant us the ability to grow in the ways of your Higher Law. Let our prayers for Jordan be maximized to include all our precious young people and their loved ones in a similar situation. Help us to daily become better instruments of thy Peace. Grant that as we spend more time in communion with you that our prayers may become more acceptable in thy sight.
We ask that your divine Will shall be done in all things.
Amen
Thank you so much for your beautiful prayers, tears of peace and love are flowing now to think Jess is protected in the way you described.
Blessings to you all and blessings and safety for all our servicemen and women in harm's way.
I shall share this with her Mom and grandparents, they will certainly appreciate having so many prayers added to theirs.
Amen
Amen
