Right now, the only folks watching TV are soap opera junkies and welfare cases.Or perhaps stay-at-home moms, the elderly, or (as in my case) 2nd and 3rd shift workers. You insulted a whole bunch of folks with this remark.
BTW...what are YOU doing on the computer at this time of day? Goofing off at work?

I doubt they have Bin Laden. The president has a history of "laying low" when such news breaks. He is not one to try to take the spot light. Remember when they got Saddam? We didn't hear from Bush for hours. To much class.

I bet if it's just a "been a year now.. here's what we've accomplished" speech... that CNN will cut away before it's over.

I expect it will be an honoring of the troops of the Iraq War and a recounting of the successes there. It presents a good time to rebutt some of the propaganda that has been spewed during the dems primaries. I think it will be a combination state of the war (terrorist and Iraq) and stump speech. We'll see.

An ABC news reporter in Baghdad this AM, commenting on the anniversary of the war, noted how much different the city looks, and even said that the majority of Iraqis are supportive of the US action, and feel they are much better off now.
I was astounded to hear this from ABC, and the reporter will no doubt be disciplined when he returns home.

I'm telling Bush that the target audience should be the 280 or so million people presently in this country who've decided they aren't as supportive of the war as they were last year. As long as regular pro-Bush people like Toby Keith who says he's not sure things add up for him on Iraq are walking around the country, he's got work to do and this is a good excuse to get that work done with the help of the news media in primetime. He should have done this speech from the Oval Office Monday night.
