Men Posing as Officers Invade NW Houston Home

A northwest Houston family is traumatized, after three men impersonating police officers, broke into their home.

ABC13 Eyewitness News

(3/12/04 - HOUSTON) — Houston police are looking for three young men who forced their way into a home and robbed a northwest Houston couple.

The homeowners tell police the three suspects were dressed as police officers when they pushed their way into their home on Mayfield near Vogel around 2:00am Monday.

That's when the suspects tied up the husband and wife, their 19-year-old son and his friend, then stole 10 guns from a gun collection. Before leaving, they beat up the 19-year-old.

Police say he took himself to the hospital for minor injuries.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that this family's teenage son was blabbing about the family's gun collection, and a few of his "friends" decided to go after it. This is probably not a random crime.

that Sir is more common than you know!

But it's worth compiling these stories for another reason: if anyone ever blasts real cops as they bust in on a wrong-address no-knock raid, these fake-cop stories will be useful in defense.

Good point. Its possible it could help add up to reasonable doubt.

Of course the particular defendant would have to demonstrate he or she was aware of the fake-cop stories before the incident they are on trial for. Probably would have to take the stand.

"Notice that in Texas, it's a "Gun Collection", anywhere else it's an "Arsenal"..."

In Kalifornicate -- they report a milk carton sized container of BBs, as THOUSANDS of rounds of ammunition...

Any shooter, that reloads their own -- and has a moderate stock of all calibers on hand -- would make the evening news as a potential terrorist or militia ammo dump.
