Kerry is desperate to try and show that he's not a Botoxed weenie carried around in Teresa's Vuitton bag like a pampered pooch. Which is why I think we will see him attempting phony publicity displays of Alpha maleness.
I call them MMM-Manufactered Macho Moments.
The media lapdogs will dutifully record Kerry getting out of the gondola for his photo op and then shut down the cameras, as he's bundled into a snow cat, with a thermos of hot cocoa and a shawl, for his real trip down the mountain.
If I were 61 years old, like John Kerry, with matchstick arms and legs, in questionable physical health and not training on a regular capacity, I would not risk downhill skiing.
Highly decorated Marine and combat veteran, Col. Oliver North is the same age as Kerry and a 61 yr old that I could see downhill skiing.
Former President Bush is 80 yrs old and I could see him downhill skiing, before I could envision Kerry strapping on a pair of Rossignols.
It's not the age, it's the physical history and conditioning.
Besides, Kerry's make up might crack in the cold temperatures.

Thank you - My brain wasn't engaged earlier, so I didn't recognize the acronym. Perhaps I was thrown off by Hillary redefining the VRWC this week as a VRW network with extensive infrastructure. I'm still waiting for the memo with my marching orders. : )

I never said Cheney should be dumped for an empty-suited moderate. Could someone else have given this speech just as effectively? I think the answer is yes.

I wasn't claiming you did or didn't. I honestly don't remember who all wanted him off the ticket. I've been for keeping him on there since Day One.

And I wouldn't say anyone would be just as effective as the VP. His laid back, yet forceful, style is quite impressive.
