Heading toward Europe ... Today's word is France, Arabic faransaa. The capital city of France, Paris, has the same name in Arabic with longer i (bariis). Remember, there is no "P" in Arabic! How do we say :"Paris is a beautiful city."? Uh...KA-BOOM!?

Meanwhile the French help China threaten Taiwan.... I had no idea this was happening. Good grief! Is there no end to the duplicity of the French? I surely hope that the full measure of France's involvement in the massively corrupt "Oil for Food" program is disclosed for the world to see. I have no doubt that their skimming from a $50B+ cash flow was the SOLE reason for their obstruction of our effort to go into Iraq last year (let alone their involvement in Saddam's WMD programs). Yet the Left still drivels on about Haliburton, "it's all for oil" etc.
I hate to admit it, but I really hate the French. They have always complained that it was Hessian mercenaries that led to their defeat at Waterloo -- yet they are the most mercenary people on Earth these days.

Yeah. Maybe France should have just sat on the sidelines and watched and let the British beat us in the American Revolution, too. You can disagree with France's current foreign policy, but France saved our a** back then, and I appreciate it.

Perhaps Jacques ChIRAQ was overheard saying "Zut alors! How can that beeeeeeee? We were on your side, Osama. Au secours, au secours. America, please help us."
To quote the immortal Louie the Lizard, "Poor froggy."

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it, since to many people here the prospect of a bloodbath in Parisian streets (or in my own town of Poitiers) seems highly enjoyable. To some, as it seems, wishing good luck to terrorists seems a socially acceptable behavior.
How are things going in your neck of the woods ?

Hi to All.
I think that democracy has one big side effect:
While a democratic goverment lasts a couple (or 4 years)before a change usually, that means that they will do anything to gain power;
While on the other side who rules islamic countries are always the same.
This means one thing to me: That islamic goverments know well what they want!!! (conquer the infedels) and they know that proabibly it will not happen in 1-4 years, so they take it slow and make projects for 10, 20, 50 or even 100 years!!! Start arming over there, start war over here ....
Next Italy ....that's my country, for now!!!

Absolutely. You think not? They are part of NATO as we are, a treaty which we will abide by no matter what they do or say unless they break the treaty. And that won't happen. They need us, they know it, but the socialists won't admit it.

Jaques Chrac isn't Charles Martel, and unlike the Franks, the French have no testicles.

As part of NATO we'd be there - but does NATO provide that we protect them from terrorism? Invasion, of course. But terrorism threats?
To: b4its2late
...I am sure they all know that if anything else happens to them (Spain), the US would always come to their aid...
Yup. Spain is a NATO member and Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization alliance states all members are to treat an attack on one as an attack upon all.

You mean to tell me that France, who not only refused to get involved in the Iraqi war but worked diligently to get other nations to follow their lead is now being threatened by terrorists?
If France does indeed experience a terrorist attack, they have themselves and Spain to blame.
