I wonder if you understand what I am saying?

After seeing it reposted by you on every thread having to do with Canada-U.S. relations I think I have a pretty good idea of what your saying. I just don't understand why your saying it. We are not trolls come here to insult the United States. We come because we find kindred spirits here, we learn, we share, we leave and go about the business of improving our nation. If we see over-the-top Canada bashing can you fault us for standing up for the truth and our country? Would you do any less if the roles were reversed?

I've looked over albertabound's post on this thread and if you find them 'particularly rude' then your skin must be pretty thin.

Why do you and other Canadians think you have the right to come onto this American site and tell us off?

Why do you suppose that I or any other Canadian here think we have "the right" to come here? My presence here is "a privlege" granted by the owner of this site. If that privlege is conditional upon not disagreeing with any statement made by an American and not freely expressing my thoughts and perceptions in a civil manner then I do not want to be here.

If you want to take umbrage against some particular Canadian or Canadian politician or segment of the Canadian population then the more power to you. But if you or any other poster wants to make insulting sweeping generalizations against Canada or Canadians then as long as I have the privlege of posting here, I will confront you.

"After seeing it reposted by you on every thread having to do with Canada-U.S. relations I think I have a pretty good idea of what your saying."

Exagerating a little are you? :-) When was the last Canada thread I posted on? And no, I don't think you understand what I am saying at all. I will try again. This is an American site. It doesn't matter whether you think that is fair or not. That is the truth. This site is about furthering conservatism in America . That is the purpose of this site. When foreigners come onto this site, I believe that they should act with utmost respect and courtesy because they are not one of us -- because they are foreigners -- because this is NOT their site. When I see Canadians coming here to the American site with no other discernable purpose than to defend Canada and argue with Americans -- I am offended.

"I just don't understand why your saying it."

Why don't you consider taking me at my word? That I find posts like your first one to me on this thread and albertabounds posts on this thread offensive. That is why I say what I do. I say it because I really do see it as rude and disrespectful for foreigners to come onto this American site and tell us off.

"We are not trolls come here to insult the United States. We come because we find kindred spirits here, we learn, we share, we leave and go about the business of improving our nation."

There are Canadians I see on this site who do what you are saying here. They do not argue with Americans on their site. They come to learn and to further conservatism here. I appreciate their participation. Your post to me nor albertabounds posts are not about learning, sharing and leaving. They are about telling us what to think and what to feel and why we should not think and feel the way that we do about Canada. I find those posts offensive.

"If we see over-the-top Canada bashing can you fault us for standing up for the truth and our country? Would you do any less if the roles were reversed?"

No I would not. And that is another reason that I question whether you have actually read my posts or understand what I am saying. I would never go onto a Canadian site and tell off Canadians or argue with them or tell them what to think. I have too much respect for that. And I find that foreigners who come here to this American site telling us off to be incredibly disrespectful.

"I've looked over albertabound's post on this thread and if you find them 'particularly rude' then your skin must be pretty thin."

Don't you think that that is a funny thing for you to say -- even possibly hypocritical -- since it is the clearly "thin skin" of Canadians that has you so up in arms in the first place? Isn't it a fact that it is your "think skin" that causes you to come here and argue with Americans? But we disagree. I think that albertabound was particularly rude to Americans on this thread. And I think that you were particularly rude to me. You didn't answer the specifics of my question: "Why do you and other Canadians think you have the right to come onto this American site and tell us off?"

"If that privlege is conditional upon not disagreeing with any statement made by an American and not freely expressing my thoughts and perceptions in a civil manner then I do not want to be here."

Saying to me "STFU" is not anywhere near civil. It was particlarly rude. So I cannot take your above statement seriously since you obviously are not civil in your posts. It is my hope that there will be "conditions" on foreigners posting here. I would very much like to see that. Too bad that foreigners can't be respectful on their own, without having to be "told" to be respectful of the fact that this is an American site.

"But if you or any other poster wants to make insulting sweeping generalizations against Canada or Canadians then as long as I have the privlege of posting here, I will confront you."

That is your choice, as long as you have the privelege of posting, as you say. However, as long as I see Canadians and other foreigners disrespecting this site -- I will be confronting you. I believe we have every right to bash Canada (or France or Syria or anyone) all we want to. That is the privelege of Americans on American sites. If you want to bash Americans -- there are plenty of Canadian sites that do nothing but bash American and Americans for you to go to.
